Tried these folks out with my bear. They made the sausage exactly how I wanted it. The customer service both in store and over the phone was very good. Price was fair. The only thing that was a weak spot is they didnt differentiate between the labels on my cheese and my non cheese batches on the package labels.
I still give them 5 stars because overall they do a great job and they are worth their wages.

10/10 recommend. Had an issue with a previously butchered animal they did and the way they handled making that mistake right was hands down the best experience I’ve had with any business in the grande prairie region. Huge shout out to Jen for being amazing and empathetic. We will be bringing many more animals their way in the future. Thanks tatonka!

This place is organized and cleaned, and workers have exceptional customer skills. They are soft-spoken and listened to their customer with patience. It is a place to be if you need beef or services about beef.

I bought half a cow in May 2024 but when I arrived home the inspection sticker where dated Nov 2023. I thought I was getting fresh meat butchered in spring. Never once did anyone mention that it was 6 months old. The meat is good is why it's 2 stars and not 1. I'll be going elsewhere for my meat in the future.

We took a few groups of pigs here last fall (2022) as they were one of the only options at the time of an inspected facility around GP and we were not very satisfied and had some negative feedback from our customers as well. We had a few customers complain about the butchershop not contacting them about their meat sometimes for months, and people complaining about the cured products and quality of cuts.
Very disorganized in all aspects when we used them. (When people (including ourselves) tried to pick up their meat, they often said they couldn’t find it; despite being tagged prior they couldn’t differentiate individual animals, giving us dates to bring in pigs and then saying it was the wrong date after we had already loaded, our customers panicking that they had not received a call weeks after animals being dropped off etc.
We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt as they were switching owners/management at the time, but it really never got better over the few months we used them and resulted in us taking a hit as it reflected poorly on us.
I will say that Desi and Mitch were always very friendly and seemed to want to make things right; so hopefully they have improved since then as GP could really use a good, reliable option for an inspected butchershop.
