Between the donut and my last bowl of seafood chowder in the Maritimes, we stopped by Withrow’s to walk off the calories and to pick up some local treasures home for the boys.

Happy to find many local produce, from maple syrup to NS apples and PEI potatoes. I ended up picking up 3 lbs of apples and a bag of corn seeds to bring home. Would have gotten more if I have the luggage space but I am very happy to learn how to grow potatoes from a local while visiting so I can practice at home.

Been there few times, short, long haired cashier with glasses in produce section not very friendly seeing that I am Native American! I tried greeting her with Hello each time and get no reply. Everyone else was friendly though, prices great, location great. Cashier needs to throw the race card aside, not professional at all, bad for business!

Edit: You in house sausage rolls are tasty but different! These are exactly how I remember them growing up in the UK❤️ Either way, I'm very happy to have their pies close to home!

Omg, I could not believe when I saw you had pies from the British shop in Halifax! Please, please, please bring in their sausage rolls, I beg! Everything they make is so good, my husband drives into Halifax every other week to stock up, so he's very happy to have them close to home❤️

If you haven't been here, you should. While they have two locations, this one is our favourite because of the meat shop. Unbelievable quality of meat, great variety and oftentimes, cheaper than the grocery store! Not to mention local. Staff are so friendly and helpful - you can tell they all take a lot of pride in their work. Best tip: they also have THE best pumpkins at Halloween if you're a serious carver; and the largest size is $5!! They're seriously the best. Can't recommend the pork rolls enough - our favourite is the apple and bacon. We are fans for life.

Shoped there recently for some local beef cuts since we have given up on the big store beef with water,hormones and antibiotics . . The beef was supreme and prices fair. We are a bit far away but will make a monthly trip from now on . Worth the drive and your health will thank you.

I’m visiting from Nevada and was told this is a great spot for home cooked meals. The ready to eat meals looked very good but the rudeness of the 2 ladies at the front of the store was such a turn off I left empty handed.

Amazing staff. Very good reasonable prices the meat market is amazing food tastes great garden centre lots of choices from veggies to flowers annuals to perennials Seeds overall withrows farmers market is highly recommended specially for tourists but if your looking for meat that’s your best choice.
