Swiss Bakery serves an array of sweet and savoury baked goods, sandwiches, and coffee. Located on a relatively quiet street. Kind of a small place with a lot of the space taken up by the food cases, but they have a few large tables inside and more small tables on the patio.
I dropped in for lunch and ordered a veggie breakfast sandwich, a slice of turtle cake, and a purple rain tea (their tea list had a few uncommon options which was cool). The breakfast sandwich was delicious. It came on a fresh pretzel bun which was the highlight, but the filling was also very tasty. Very satisfying portion size. The cake was good. I was there pretty early for lunch, maybe 10:30, and the person taking my order warned me that the cake had been frozen and might not be defrosted yet, but I ordered it anyway and by the time I ate it there was no trace of frost. It was pretty sweet but the slice wasn’t too big so it was fine. Just a little heavy on the frosting. The prices were very reasonable.
I was told they would bring my food to my table and assumed that also meant my drink, but when they brought my food out they told me to come get my drink inside. I’m getting picky, I was annoyed that my tea came in a paper cup when I ordered for here. But the staff were friendly.
I keep forgetting this place is here because it’s not directly on my path even though I pass by it most days just one street over, but I’ll try to remember it and visit again.

バンクーバーで大人気のベーカリーだよ。特に「フライパン」に似たパン、フライパンブレッドが話題で、もちもちの食感がクセになるんだ。他にもクロワッサンやカスタードブリオッシュなど、美味しい焼きたてパンがいっぱいで、どれも香ばしくて絶品！朝ごはんやランチにぴったりで、地元の人たちもよく足を運んでる。店内はこじんまりとしていて、温かい雰囲気だから、ふらっと立ち寄って一息つくのにもおすすめだよ。

You know how most gingerbread houses sit and attract dust and then get thrown out? Not this one…. Delicious. My adult kids started devouring it before they finished decorating it. Great value. Great fun. Great idea.

I am writing to share my honest feedback on their Too Good To Go strategy. I have been a loyal customer for a long time, but now I feel betrayed and insulted. Just look at how ridiculous their package is. It’s only $6.99—not about the money, but about how they perceive their customers. It feels as though they are using Too Good To Go customers as a food waste bin. Since when? Is this their plan for dealing with inflation and other challenges?

I understand that this is a difficult time for small businesses, but this must stop. Many other bakeries on Too Good To Go, like Terra Breads and Nemesis, offer better variety and put more care into their packages. None of them treat customers like this.

Additionally, Olympic Village’s demographic primarily consists of single professionals and small households. The portion sizes in your Too Good To Go offering seem unrealistic for the local customer base—who would actually be able to finish this? Instead of reducing food waste, this approach risks creating more. If you produced too much breads that aren’t for target audience, why don’t you donate this to Foodbank or take this to B2B opportunity instead of taking advantage of likeminded customers…?

Anyone who has purchased from Too Good To Go would understand why I’m so upset. As someone who works for the public and volunteers for the community, I feel compelled to share my experience so that others are aware of what they might be getting when they choose to support local businesses and be eco-friendly.

If you are looking for a cozy coffee spot in Mount Pleasant, definitely stop by. This local coffee shop and bakery has a warm atmosphere and reasonable prices (slightly higher). It's perfect for a quick bite or grab and go, not the best for sit down dinning. Outdoor seating is available but not outstanding. The food offerings are decent, although the sandwiches could use more flavour and the artisan bread and treat options were limited.

However, with 30 years of serving the community, it's a reliable choice. Please note that they now only operate on weekdays. Overall, a decent option for those in the area. I can't vouch for the entire menu, as I haven't tried everything myself.
If you’re in the area, looking for a quick bite, definitely stop by!

We visited the lovely area and was hypothesized by the beautiful smell from this bakery.. The staff beautiful and happy, the space so cute and inviting and the flake factor on the pastry was a 11/10 ..try one of their toasted sandwiches, the sausage rolls and the delicious pretzel buns.. of all we saw in our visit to Vancouver this was a great end. Thank you Swiss From the Torontonians with love 💞

LOVELY iced canadiano/americano. I take oat milk, but it was phenomenal before adding it in too — entirely a force of habit on my part. The workers behind the counter were warm and friendly and damn, so efficient. A sincerely delightful experience, it really made a difference in my day, and I was in there for like four minutes.

I think this is a small family business .. I visited BC last year for a week and this bakery is just behind the building where I stayed. The owner and servers are really nice. They serve their bread fresh, sometimes warm!! Love their 🥐 and 🍩!!!!
This is my bestfriend’s to go to breakfast place. Would definitely come back again when I get a chance!!!
