This is a family run farm you can visit for some farm experiences.

Had a weekend reservation for the “A Bit of Everything. Visit Both Cows & Alpacas” experience. The owner arrived on time along with her two very friendly dogs who accompanied us throughout our entire visit. In the front of the property, we saw chickens and rabbits in their respective habitats while everyone in the party signed their waivers.

We started with a visit to two piglets. Next, we went on to the cows and then alpacas. We were allowed to be in the pen with the piglets as well as being inside the enclosures for the cows and alpacas.

Be prepared with the right attire and cleaning gear. It’s a farm so expect to get dirty. Remember hand sanitizer, wet wipes, tissues. You’re also out in the open so remember sunscreen, hats, maybe an umbrella.

We were given food to entice the animals. The alpacas weren’t all that interested, but the cows were quite intense. Even though they were somewhat smaller than the dairy cows you see at the CNE, they are still big enough to push you around and knock you off your feet. The cows also have horns. Although not intentionally, they may hit you with the horns in their haste to get to the food in your hands. Make sure you don’t have any cows behind you in case they go for food in someone else’s hands and knocks you aside to get it.

Afterwards, we were offered the opportunity to help with feeding the cows. We tossed fruits and vegetables into the enclosures from the outside. I suppose if you’re concerned about your safety, you can ask to do this during your experience instead being inside the enclosure.

This was a pleasant and educational experience. The owner is very friendly and open to answering questions. It’s a nice way to introduce us city folks to a bit of the farm life.

I had a wonderful visit at Silver Heron Farm yesterday. Kim answered all the questions I had about the cows and alpacas. There were chickens, a couple of little pigs wandering around and 2 friendly dogs. The animals have lots of room to run around and are very well fed.

I had a disappointing experience with Silver Heron Farm. I booked an appointment for my daughter's birthday, and we were excited to visit. Unfortunately, they cancelled on us the day of our appointment without providing a reason. What made this especially frustrating was the nonchalant and uncaring attitude we received when they informed us of the last-minute cancellation.

It's particularly off-putting because customers are typically charged if they cancel their own appointments last minute. As there aren't many reviews for this place yet, I tried to give them a chance, but this experience has left a bad impression. It's unfortunate, as this kind of last-minute cancellation and poor communication is simply bad business practice.

I hope they can improve their customer service and reliability in the future. Potential visitors should be aware of the possibility of last-minute cancellations without reason.
