I had a terrible experience with "The Cultivated Garden" recently. It took me a considerable amount of work to get them added to google to place a review for them-their website does not include their address and I had to do some investigating to find them, something I suspect they do intentionally so that they don't have a permanent record of customer complaints and review.

My experiencing is that they low in professionalism and high in their sense of entitlement. That is, the actual labourers complain about everything on the job ranging from the soil and conditions and tasks being assigned, to the patrons of the building that hired them.
It is my opinion that if you a re hired to do a contract job and you don't like the conditions, you can quit or talk to your employer, not the customers and patrons of that employer or contractor. These employees thought that they were too special to work in dirt that pets may have been in, and take it into their own hands to harass the pet owners. While I sympathize with the fact that too many pet owners are entitled and don't clean up after themselves, I don't think it is appropriate for the contract employees to harass the patrons of the businesses, something they have taken upon themselves to do. When an incident happened in one of the gardeners caused a scene recently, "The Cultivated Garden" responded by sending a letter saying how hard the employees have it. That they should not have to deal with certain aspects of their job that they don't like. I would suggest that they are wrong. AND if they are correct, they should still not allow the labourers to take it upon themselves to correct patrons. Not only do they lack manners and customer service skills to do so, it simply is not appropriate.

I would strongly consider NOT using this company, especially if your business is in a public space. They might be fine to weed a vacant lot out in the country where their complaining will not be heard, but in the city they behave like they are being victimized for doing their job and their company seems to support them in taking this tone.

As a lawn care professional, I visit tons of properties in the GTA,. And when I visit Barb's properties they are always top-notch in terms of quality, health and beauty.
You can easily tell that they employ true horticultalists that know their plants, vs. 'mow and blow' companies pretending to be professional gardeners.
