I have been in search for lotus in Ontario and been driving 4 hours to Keith McLean Conservation Area to visit lotus pond which I thought was the only lotus pond in Canada-well I am glad I was wrong! The lotus ponds in Moore Water Gardens are more beautiful and stunning and totally worth 2 hours' driving from Toronto. If I have a pond in my backyard, I will definitely buy some here and grow my own lotus pond. The staff was super friendly.

While on a little journey to Port Stanley, Ontario, we came across Moore Water gardens without knowing who or what they were.
We discovered a wonderland of aquatic plants of all kinds of varieties.
We have a small backyard pond, and over the years - our water plants purchased at other garden centres never quite made it, so we thought we should see what Moore had to offer.
The facility is a huge garden centre dedicated to water plants for all types of ponds, gardens.
They have dozens of ponds full of beautiful water lilies, hyacinths, lettuces, and so much more. Tropical plants as well.
In addition to whats for sale, they also have a growing field that you can walk around and explore - but do not fall in.

The prices of their plants are a bit more than you might pay at the big box stores, but trust me - the quality of these plants is exceptional. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and they are eager to assist you with all of your questions. They know their stuff, what kind of plants are good for your specific ponds/gardens, etc.

Moore's Water Gardens is the first place you should go when you are looking for water plants for your pond.

The transaction started well, Dana was responsive and readily answered questions I had. However, plants were not received in good condition and there was miscommunication along the way. Disappointing for such a long operating nursery. Do not recommend their shipping service.

1. The shipping quote should have been part of the order sheet or invoice or whatever Dana wanted to call it. It would be have been easier to read, and not as some after thought in the email body. It came as a surprise that the figure in the quote/invoice was not the amount paid. Also, the number was not confirmed verbally prior to giving payment.

2. I asked for a full invoice and Dana said a full invoice would be generated after shipping (which was to be Monday June 6). I didn't get an invoice until I asked for it (Wednesday June 8), and no tracking information was provided until I also asked for it. I had no idea it was shipped or when it would arrive. Good thing I happened to be home during arrival.

3. The packaging of the plants show an absolute lack of care. There is no warning stickers on the exterior of the box to indicate that it's a fragile package, or that there's live plants, or that it should be kept right side up. The post office delivery guy literally tossed it on its side on my door step. Once I opened the box, I noticed there is no individual packaging, insulation, or any sort of plant protection. They just layed on top of each other, and some had fallen out of their pots. Leaves were crushed. Also want to mention the plants were absolutely soaked and heavy with water.

As a plant seller myself who often ships across Canada, if I shipped plants like this I would be out of business. If you had no experience shipping plants, this should have been communicated so that we could have either provided instructions, or chose not to order accordingly.

The plants are in an atrocious condition, and this is not the quality befitting of a long time nursery. I will not be recommending your nursery or services to anyone in the plant community. Your quality of work will speak for itself.

I went over the weekend to get some aquatic plants for some of my setups and the staff asked several times if I needed help and gave space when needed. The propagation ponds provide valuable homes for native wildlife (particularly native turtles and amphibians) which I appreciated them allowing the wildlife to find homes there. Some pond stores prevent turtles and amphibians in the ponds out of worry for the plants. Moore has clearly figured out a system that works symbiotically with the natural systems that come by.

Whoever trained and hired the staff hired some hard working teenagers and young adults and I can see myself continuing to buy my pond supplies here for years to come.

Moore Water Gardens. EXCELLENT customer service. Above and beyond. I ordered a water hyacinth to be shipped to me. Canada Post dropped the ball and didn't put my parcel card in my box until 5 days AFTER the parcel arrived. I contacted Leslie and asked if my order had been shipped, because there was no card in my box. She let me know it had actually arrived at Canada Post 5 days previous. I rushed to the post office (it was a Monday) and there was the card finally.
First of all, I ordered only one dwarf hyacinth, there were 4 in the box! And they were packaged so well, they all just had some yellow leafs and a bit of spoiling on some of the bulbs, even after sitting for so long. I trimmed off the bad parts as I know they will regrow.
I had let Leslie know that Canada Post did not put the card in my box. After I picked up and cared for the plant I had to rush out to work. I totally forgot to email and tell her everything was OK and I can save the plants.
Well I checked my email later that night and Leslie emailed saying after discussing it they were just resending the order express at no cost to me! I was stunned and felt so bad for being late emailing. I emailed her back, explaining I can save these ones, but they sent the new order anyways!
There are not many businesses nowadays that will take the initiative to have such a gold star standard of customer service that they go above and beyond for a little dwarf hyacinth.
This is a business I will recommend to all of my friends and anyone checking reviews.
I really needed this plant as it is an essential for a crab breeding project I am working on. They had no clue why I needed it or ordered it. But they treated me like I had placed a $1000 order and not just a $5 order, and that speaks volumes to me about their business standards and practices.
Moore WG, you have a new customer for life! And I will recommend you on my social media pages to everyone in my canadian aquatic groups. Thank you for your efforts and integrity! It will not go unrecognized.
