I loved the native plant selection! They’re all grouped together for easy perusing. They had items I don’t often see in nurseries, for example: nannyberry, multiple varieties of liatris instead of just the most common liatris spicata, downy skullcap, purple prarie clover, northern bayberry, the Cinderella swamp milkweed cultivar which I love. They had smaller, cheaper pots of the more common natives as well. Really well done, I will visit again next year.

I buy a lot of my plants at Royal City. Great quality and extremely helpful staff.
This year I purchased a number of Christmas gifts and 2 special plants for myself. A Lipstick plant which started to bloom just before Christmas and a huge Amaryllis bulb which I planted at the beginning of December. I have included some pictures taken today and they are still in full bloom. Absolutely gorgeous.

I visited Royal City Nursery on June 5th, 2025. This was my very first time there and I was looking for some indoor plants. I found 2 succulents, both in 2 inch pots which had price labels on them marked as $9.99 each. But on the aisle where the plants were kept, there was a price board written as "2 inch pot succulents are $5.99 each". I took them and went to checkout. The cashier said these are rare so the price is $9.99 as it is on the price sticker and $5.99 was only for the plants with no price labels on the pots. But I am sure that every plants in that succulents aisle had the same $9.99 price stickers on them. I did took time there to find a healthy plant from the collection, so I am 100% sure about this. The cashier lady lied on my face and didn't honour the price they had displayed on aisle. I am wondering if every 2 inch succulent pots were $9.99 why did they have that misleading price board in that aisle? They had very few healthy plants in that succulents collection and it's obvious that's why they marked the price lower. Its really disappointing and sad to realise that I got cheated. I didn't bother to talk much at the counter or question them as she seemed rushed and resisted, so I payed for the plants and left the store. I know, it is only a matter of $10, but giving it willingly to someone and getting stole by someone is different. The only mistake on my end was that, I didn't take a photo of that big price board they displayed on the aisle and I could have then and there decided not to proceed with the purchase. Hence this was my first and last visit to the place. So I advice dear plant lovers, stay away from this place, not worth questioning your sanity.

Great nursery — I always find what I'm looking for. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they often share great tips on how to care for new plants. I don’t know their name, but the retired DND MP employee who works there is always especially great to deal with.

I appreciate the excellent staff and the years of experience they have, in addition to the quality of the plants and the lovely clothing and lifestyle section.
I can always count on getting very good advice for any of my plant or shrub issues and good suggestions for appropriate plants when i'm looking for something new, which I greatly appreciate! It's worth the drive to Royal City Nursery!

Brandon & Todd did a magnificent job of putting the plans into reality. We allowed for their design genius and expertise to fine tune our plans and they nailed it !! Our front yard garden is beautiful, even in it's infancy. They answered all our questions, patiently allowing Me to document the answers onto out worksheet plan for future reference such that we will do the best by our new plant family.

Great place! Tons of selection! Excellent service! Lots of free parking!

Service: They carry your bags of dirt to your car for free. One of the girls that work there gave me some very helpful advice about my tomato plants. People have remarked about the health of my tomato plants and the abundance of tomatoes I get in my main backyard garden. The ones in my pots have done poorly though. I didn't know why. She explained that the other dirt that I was purchasing does not work well in pots because the dirt is too dense. It strangles the tomato plant roots if they are in pots. I can see the difference in the types of dirt. The one they suggested is lighter. See my pics.

Store: They have a few miscellaneous items for sale like women's wide brimmed hats, items for kids, etc.

Garden center: They have covered and uncovered sections. The whole complex is quite large. They have a lot of varieties of vegetable plants, house plants, trees, seeds, gardening tools, soil, etc. I didn't see any Roma tomato plants, which I was disappointed about. I tried another variety in addition to my tried and true ones.

Kindness: I saw the employees spend quite a bit of time helping an elderly man that was quite confused about a number of things including finding the line for paying. They went above and beyond with respect and kindness.

Wheelchair accessibility: The garden center is all on one level. The parking lot is mainly fine gravel.

Points: You can earn points purchasing items in their center, including plants.
