Great event! I showed up early with the kids and hit up the kids area. Did some drawing and the Cookie Monster activity. We dropped off my daughter’s cookies in the bake off. We didn’t win but had a blast making the cookies. Tried a lot of chocolate and I’d say I think the stars of the festival were northern chocolate from Yellowknife. Great chocolate. Bought four or five bars from them. Took some pics with madams chocalala. They had a coffee place inside (L’oca) where I got some juice for the kids to go wash down the samples. About two dozen vendors were there so many many options and pretty cool to see people from
Mexico, Ukraine and other places all making chocolate in Canada. People were lined up when I left so appeared to be quite popular.

For a first-time event, I think it’s something to be grateful for.
An event like this was needed, where the vendors offered more than just chocolate.

It’s appreciated that it was an educational event, and the vendors invested a lot of money to travel from far away and bring their products.

Drove up from Calgary to attend and I was not disappointed. I did have to wait in line to get in for 20 minutes but they had this chocolate lady coming up and down the line which the kids get a kick out of. Millennium place had a place to get drinks right there so we grabbed that while we waited. Check in at the front was smooth and you’re immediately immersed in chocolate! There was some really cool presentations on the stage showing cacao fruits and how they’re made. We tried chocolates at a dozen vendors and there were a lot more but we ran out of tickets and stamina before that. Lineup seemed to have abated by the time we left. $50 for a family of four for a unique experience seemed worth it to me. It was really cool to see so many Canadian businesses in one spot. #BuyCanadian!!

ChocoFest was an unexpected treasure! Delectable chocolate treats, on-stage chocolate demonstrations, chocolate-themed entertainment for the children and a chocolate chip cookie bake-off were all part of the fun! Already looking forward to the next one.

What a Wonderful Experience!! My Daughter gave me the VIP ticket for my birthday and am so Happy I was able to try All the Fantastic Chocolates!! Being VIP was Great as it was not crowded at 5:00, I will be back next year!! 🥰 From 6:15 - 8:00 it was extremely busy so I took a break and had a delicious coffee from Loca. I’m a Dark Chocoholic 🤣🤣 so experiencing sugar free, gluten free, and learning the benefits of Pure Cacao and how sourcing the product and how other plants ( fruit trees etc ) that grow around influence the flavours was Super interesting for me 🤩 The vendors were all very Welcoming and Friendly, Chocolala The Chocolate Queen was very Sweet!! The Volunteers very helpful and Funn!! Thank You Everyone for a Chocomazing Experience ❤️

We enjoyed Chocofest so much. The vendors were so friendly and it was interesting learning about the process of chocolate making. Each vendor was so passionate about their unique products. I never knew there so many ways to incorporate chocolate into tasty morsels. Thank you to everyone involved in this chocolate festival. Looking forward to many more.🍫❤️

Fantastic event! I enjoyed the different chocolate tasting. There was lots of gluten free options which was great. The volunteers were super friendly. There was a massive line at the entry when we got there, but it moved really fast. We are excited to go again next year.

The wife and I decided to try out this never before chocolate event which I discovered on Facebook and I’ve got to say we were pretty disappointed. The prices were whatever, expensive but what isn’t nowadays. The samples were small as well for $2-$5 a sample. Also there were no napkins or little containers/plates to hold your samples as you walk around…but I guess when you hand out fingernail sample sizes no need to right?

We felt that they strongly needed direction or an event planner to host such an event and a bigger space. Near the back there were chairs etc but empty, not really great use of the space since it was pretty jammed. I understand they wanted to likely have people sit down if they wanted to listen to the band or whomever was trying to play or sing but don’t have 30 chairs out when you have a tiny space like that and take up 20% of the event. The speakers were so loud as it is was a club where my wife and I couldn’t even hear one another we were shouting at each other like crazy people, no need for such loud music it’s an event not a concert.

Anyways moving on…

80% of the vendors need to start placing some signs up with prices at least! Often we waited in line to just get some info where we would prefer to know the price of a chocolate bar and not having to wait in line to find out. Some vendors refused to give out samples from certain chocolate bars or chocolate boxes which they had open only on display, I found that to be odd. Like yeah, here’s $48 for a box of chocolate I never had ….. also would be nice to have some sort of an idea how many tickets you have left when the vendor scans your QR code. We had to keep asking. This is if you buy digital online because it was cheaper than in person. Would we go again? Probably not for $15/ person . This was a nice attempt but pretty poor execution.
