We purchased vinyl plank flooring from this store. Their salesman talks a good line about how he has great installers and recommended someone to do not just our flooring but also to replace our double shower stall in the bathroom. We stupidly thought he would recommend someone who knew what they were doing.

We had 3 weeks of very short working days (sometimes only 3 hours) so the job was going on and on. At the 3 week point, not one room in the house was finished. There were bits and pieces of trim left undone, bits of wood with nails lying around….and then they didn’t show up at all one day. We didn’t get even the courtesy of a phone call to let us know they would not be showing up. The 2nd time that happened in the same week, we’d had enough and told him it was over. He said he was too busy to show up that day because he works for a strata - that’s more important. The way they treated our time showed a lack of respect. He sent his son the next day to finish the hall…..see picture - 2 3/4” inches out in a short hallway…..kind of like the carnival fun house feeling when you go down the hall because it’s so crookedly laid.

To date we have spent almost $1200 on finishing and redoing. And more to come - the big one with the floor having to be taken up in the hall and reinstalled. And all trim having to be redone.

The carpet installer sent from the store sat here when she came to do the estimate and talked about how the last people she had worked for had not given her a big enough tip and she was not happy. We’re getting carpeting from a flooring store in Parksville. Someone else is doing our bathroom.

The salesman at the store does not seem too bothered at all by this. I guess it’s business as usual.

After speaking to the salesman about this, my husband came home to tell me that the plants were all on sale in the garden centre. But this business will not be getting another penny of my money. And people in the neighborhood who have asked how the reno is going……well, you can imagine yourself whether they will give them a try.

This flooring department might be good if you are a do-it-yourselfer and do not rely on a solid (or even halfway good) recommendation.

Mostly helpful staff which makes such a difference with coming up with good solutions. A special shout-out to Ryan who yesterday was going by and saw I was heading to my car with several big bags of soil ~ he stopped and came over and put them in my car. Impressive and much appreciated.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The store manager not so much. He also referred to the counter staff as "the girls"

Please ... Time for you folks to cough up the money for an accurate saw for your guys in the back ... I bought a 1/4 sheet of hardboad and asked the staff to cut out two identical pieces 14' X 20".. they happily obliged but when I got home I discovered both pieces were out of square and out by as much as a half inch .. They were unusable. Poor guy who did the cut was flummoxed and apologetic claiming the saw they used to cut the board was not accurate and the supervisor claimed that they were not set up to do "precision" cuts.. I suggested they use a table saw instead and was told you don't have one.. I got my money back but I won't be getting back the two hours I spent trying to sort this out . Hate to say it but I'll be going to Rona in Nanaimo..

Went in for 2 things and found recycled rubber matting...great for my rocky area yo make a seating area for the summer bought 8 of them thinking of 4 more....way cheaper then wood or cement pavers..This is the idea....will dig down and level it...double ground cloth it and have place to sit out in the evenings

Just had a great customer service experience with Kelsie (SP?) in management. I went to location and the inventory count was incorrect. Kelsie check numerous possible locations and determined that it was not an accurate count listed in the system. She went above and beyond to meet my expectations and I was able to leave with 4 - liter bottles of the same product and pricing as the one gallon. Brilliant job Kelsie !!!

Dont bother. It would be less infuriating if they just closed and you go to nanaimo the first time. When you cant supply a straight 2x4 or basic stuff like door seals, plumbing elbows, 2" deck screws. Please just stop. And if I have to order it, it definitely won't be from you at a silly marked up price.
