Good hiking experience. Trails have some water crossings, quite wet around these times. Definitely better for mountain biking than hiking, however very scenic on a clear day. Elphinstone peak is worth going to, although the view from there is somewhat limited. Difficulty of trails is easy to medium with no real need to scramble. I recommend 5-6hrs minimum to fully complete a hike to a summit of your choice. Gets to be about half as warm at the top, little sun throughout so pack warmly.

Review for Elphinstone Summit Trail:
Tough hike, but worth it! The view was incredible. Altogether it took us just over 6 hours to complete, including 3 breaks and a short lunch on the summit. Steep at the beginning and end, more gradual inclines in-between. A few spots are pretty tricky, and you may have to go hand over foot. There's one rope near the summit to help you climb up the rocks. Some of the markers were hard to spot, but if you look closely enough you'll find the way. End of July and there's almost no snow left. We saw 7 other hikers during our time on the mountain, all very friendly. No signs of big animals.

Born and raised here on the Sunshine Coast and first time to hike up to the top. What an amazing view just unbelievable

While the view from the top is stellar, the trail itself is in poor condition and does not seem to be maintained. Somewhat dangerous, especially the numerous stream crossings, and not suitable for children.

Bring snacks, lots of snacks and water because you are going to burn every calorie you ate last week climbing this beautiful summit coastal hike. We were so hungry we contemplated eating our dogs kibbles... There are two ways to approach this hike. One side from Langdale, and the other from the B&K logging road via Robert's Creek. Both ways lead to a joined Y branch coming together to go up to the summit. Gorgeous trees and steep forest inclines lead to neat little levels where you can expect to see some amazing spring fed marshy ponds with adorable and unique wetland plants. You continue to weave up more steep inclines to lovely alpine type plants, shrubs, and amazing trees. Continue on to more inclines, and as you get closer to the summit, prepare for some mild rock climbing. This is just a tiny spot, and there is rope tethered if you find you need it. Once you get near to the top, you find some amazing rocky cliff that you can easily traverse that open up to stunning clear views of the Coastal area and all its small and large islands. Continue on and find the summit with lovely 360 degree views, a wooden helicopter pad, and an amazing spot to eat that packed lunch. You will see views towards Mt. Steele and Tetrahedron, plus so much more. Animals use this trail, so expect Black Bears, horse hoof prints, eagles, hawks, and cute little bunnies. Wild blueberries August & September line the walk.., much better than kibble... Don't forget to stretch first and wear good hiking footwear.

Hike the Mount Eliphinstone Summit Trail. Took me and my wife 5:45mins round trip. The sign said 8hr return. We carried our 6month baby the whole way in a carrier. It’s a super steep climb and many areas of the trail are uneven. With trip wire roots and uneven rocks! Its grueling! The view is pretty amazing! Better from the first lookout has the best view of
Gibson’s, the Helipad has a more Inland view. Going down was slow took pretty much just as long as going up because the the footing! After all is said and done I am super happy we did it but, once was enough for me!

This park is so beautiful! I like how it lacks the crowds of many other places on the sunshine coast and I found an amazing spot with so many golden chanterelle mushrooms! Had them cooked over the fire with the clams I dug near Roberts Creek provincial beach AMAZAZING!!
