Without a doubt my favourite place to buy plants. The owner is personable, reliable, and so kind. It’s obvious every plant is inspected and is of high quality. The online store matches in-store products, and the prices are great. I’d highly recommend checking out House of Plants!

I would highly recommend this store as one of the best for house plants in Ottawa. They have an amazing collection of rare cactus and succulents. This variegated euphorbia is perfect for my ledge. The staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and patient.

Lovely little shop with a great selection. The owner was super friendly and knowledgeable. She helped me pick out plants that would be the best for the spaces I have at home, and explained how best to look after them. Will definitely be back!

I have to say House of Plants (and Judie) is amazing! <3 I tend to be really wary of ordering anything online due to some really poor experiences - particularly with ordering live plants ... it seems you never really know what you're going to get - or if it'll be healthy / dead / or full of pests! ... I have some horror stories 🙁 Unfortunately for me though, I live in a small town in Northern BC, and while there are a couple really great locals that have plants, selection tends to be limited (and my "wish list" is long! lol) Also, unfortunately for me, not many people / companies will ship to where I live, due to not being able to guarantee quality or something (even a place in the same province won't send up here!) Aaaaanyway - I came across 'House of Plants' one day and thought I'd give them a try, so I contacted them and asked if they'd ship here - they're 2/3 across the country from me! So I wasn't really expecting much - but they said they did! So ... I was SO IMPRESSED when my first order came - Everything was packed so well, each and every plant was individually wrapped with such care - also the plants were all in excellent condition - you wouldn't believe they had spent a week in transit! They were so fresh, healthy, and vibrant <3 Everything I have ordered since has been just as amazing and every plant I've gotten from House of Plants is still doing so well. Also, Judie's customer service is just awesome. She has replied to every email, answers questions, and is so friendly and personable. She even included some gifts for me that she knew was on my wish list! <3 I have no hesitation recommending House of Plants to anyone, whether you are lucky enough to live close by and visit their physical store - or even ordering from across the country! I am sure you won't be disappointed! <3 I've included some pictures of some of the plants I've gotten from House of Plants - aren't they gorgeous?! Thank you, Judie! (I can't wait til spring!) 😀

I visited this store with my girlfriend not intending to purchase anything for myself initially. After browsing I found their selection to be absolutely amazing and ended up finding a Fittonia Skeleton Key that I had to have. Judy, the owner, was very helpful with helping me find everything I need to build my first Terrarium for the Skeleton Key. They answered all my questions and went above and beyond in terms of their customer service which was one of the best I have ever had anywhere.

If you live near Ottawa or prefer to do your plant-related shopping online, we highly recommend shopping at House of Plants. TL;DR is service is excellent, plants are healthy and robust, e-commerce platform is very useful, and prices are very reasonable.

For us, the owner Judie has made all the difference in our experience, and even now after numerous times shopping at her store, she still manages to find new ways that remind us why we love to shop there.

I first decided to check the store out since I was looking to buy a plant for my partner's birthday. I am not very plant-savvy, and Judie helped me to identify some good options based on my criteria and space/light arrangement in my home. When my partner and I came back a couple weeks later, she not only remembered me but also remembered the plants that we had tentatively picked out as good options.

Now that we are returning customers, we've been able to benefit several times over from Judie's expertise and advice when it comes to care for a particular species. She has always been consistently knowledgeable and passionate about the plants she sells. Judie also puts a lot of care into remembering the plants she sells and the people to whom she sells them, and it's always very heartwarming when she asks how our other plants are doing, even ones she sold to us last year! Judie is a caring person who is clearly very passionate about making the hobby as successful and accessible as possible for her customers, and this passion really comes out in the quality of her business.

Overall, shopping at the House of Plants has been a consistently great experience and it's a no-brainer for us that we will continue to do our plant shopping with the House of Plants for as long as we can!
