Needed to stop here for diesel on route to Inuvik. Staff was professional, but pump and issued receipt were mismatched for volume of fuel and price per litre. Amazingly tho, the dollar totals matched up. So I was either OVERCHARGED based on the litres the pump showed versus what the receipt price/litre was, or the pump reading was miscalibrated based on the store receipt.

Due to Covid restrictions, I just noted this and took pics, have emailed the manager at this location, but as of yet, have not heard back. It makes you wonder why the numbers are so badly mismatched. If the receipt price per litre is correct, and the pump volume (litres) is correct (which I suspect), then I was overcharged about $14-15 on this transaction. I guess that is the price of being in the North.

Edit update: after emailing the manager of this business and receiving zero reply or acknowledgment, I am considering reporting this to Measurement Canada, who regulates fuel pumps.

Update 26 Jan 2025. Store was open, shelves barely stocked. No coffee made, told "we don't get enough business to brew coffee". The new fancy Espresso, Cappuccino machine wasn't plugged in or turned on either. With the highway south closed and no coffee coupled with the IDGAF attitude of the clerk who seemed bothered by my presence, I hope this place goes out of business.

The clerk had a sense of humor. But when you need gas I'm still amazed that can get it up here on the Dempster!

Opens an hour earlier then the other one. If you ask you might be allowed to use the toilet but you will have to take of your boots.
