If your meat has a best before date of the next day and it's already 8pm, you should offer a discount. Like your competitors.

I would have bought all the remaining chicken wings, at a minimum. But now I remember why I don't shop here. What a rip off.

The food is meh service was terrible. I went there today earlier in the evening and was ready to checkout I get to the checkout and everything is fine. I notice I was charged twice for my meat and well meat is expensive I was my $20 back. I go to this middle aged woman maybe in her 30’s or early 40’s and when I tell her what happened she looked at me in disgust and swore her cashier would never do that. Even after emptying my entire cart she still said it was my error and had the audacity to call me STUPID. And on top of everything they wouldn’t let me in the bathroom like what? What do they think I’m going to do in there? Host a party? In the end I didn’t get my refund and I am very upset I do not recommend this place at all. The Sobeys in Oakville would NEVER.

Consistently well-stocked, clean and organized. They have a great selection of ready made food like whole cooked chickens and hot sides like potatoes and vegetables. They have ready made salads of all kinds. Also, lots of quick to prep options you can heat and serve, as well as, fruit and veggies trays.

They have many things, but I went there for the flowers, the lady was so nice and made an amazing flowers bouquet. Loved it

My experience at this store was absolutely unacceptable. I walked in to pick up some cake for my birthday with my small Service Dog, and SHAROM immediately came over and shouted at me to take the dog out. When I calmly asked her to lower her voice, she became even more aggressive and raised her voice again in a rude and confrontational manner. There is no excuse for treating customers with such hostility and disrespect. Clearly, professionalism and basic decency are lacking in this place. I will never return, and I strongly advise others to think twice before shopping here.

I am hispanic myself, so this should not come across as racist. There are two hispanic women working at this store that think they can tell kids what to do. There have been two instances where they have spoken to my 2 year old with a rude tone to tell him not to touch something. They speak like they own the store.

At this store they also make all high school students leave their backpacks at the door. Is that even allowed?

I’ve always appreciated Sobeys for its product selection and convenience, but today’s experience left a sour taste, and not from anything I bought.
It’s understandable and even reasonable for any business to discourage loitering, especially during high-traffic times like lunch hours when groups of teenagers might gather. No argument there. A clearly posted “No Loitering” sign sets the expectation. But what Sobeys completely failed to grasp is how to enforce that policy with a shred of professionalism or common sense.
An employee came in like a bouncer at a nightclub, scanning for anyone who didn’t have food and promptly telling them to leave. Not asking if had made a purchase prior. Not checking if they were waiting for someone grabbing food. Not treating them like customers. Just making snap judgments and kicking people out. It felt less like customer service and more like an eviction notice based on appearance and assumption.
This kind of behavior is not only rude, it’s counterproductive. You can’t build customer loyalty by treating potential customers like trespassers. Teenagers, students, even adults without a visible grocery bag, these are still people. Some may have been planning to purchase something. Some may have been regulars. But after today, I doubt they’ll want to come back.
There’s a big difference between managing space responsibly and policing it poorly. Sobeys needs to train staff in how to enforce policies without alienating people. Respect isn’t optional in customer service, it’s the baseline.

I visited this location today with my friends and was verbally abused by one of the self checkout employees at 4 20pm. She was a middle aged woman who's tag said she's been working there since 2016. I had questions about how to process my debit card and instead of showing good customer service, she repeatedly said it was declining when I kept asking only how to press student checking account, that's the question I needed answered but she ignored that and continued to tell me it declined when a transaction hadn't even happened yet. I eventually figured out how to work it and it went through and I even had proof on my phone of the tractiom on my bank app that I kept showing her and yet she denied it and wouldn't let me leave with my purchase even after I showed that the money left from my account. Then she spent 20 minutes getting papers to show me that my account was suspended when it wasn't. After repeatedly yelling at us that the transaction hadnt gone through, she than told me that the bank took my money and sobeys didnt. Because of this I made my way to the bank with my dad in the same Plaza to get it checked out and they told me the card wasn't suspended and the transaction HAD happened at sobeys, yet we were denied our items. So our money was taken from us, and the bank had to reimburse us the taken money. Overall my experience at this location has ruined my perception of this sobeys and though I have been visiting here for years I will not be returning. This staff member clearly didn't know how to treat her customer with respect especially as a teenage girl I expected some help as it's still my first few times exploring how to use and work a card by myself. I'm very disappointed.
