Our favourite place ❀

We've been going there for a couple of years already and every time we had a blast.

Usually, we go there for a couple of nights. For example, we go on Friday after 3pm, return home on Sunday after 12pm.

The total cost to stay at the farm is $200/per night. We usually book Cardinal Suite which can accommodate up to 6 people.

The Suite is located in a separate building, has living room with a kitchen, with all the appliances and stuff that you need for a stay. Also, it has 3 bedrooms with 2 beds each. The farm uses the premises for families who have disabilities, so, beds are all special for those people or kids.

In the living room, there's a TV with games, DVD player, table games.

Very quiet zone, at night no sound neither light around. Amazing feeling...

At night, we saw fireflies. That was magic!

In the morning, we were able to see and check all the animals. They have 2 donkeys, females, horses, cows, sheep, goats, ponies, bunnies, chickens and little garden.

There's a play zone for kids, a slide, outdoor school set and swings, but different kind.

Overall, we have always so many great memories attached to that place that it became our tradition to go there and spend some great quality time with our family.

Find their email address, pay for your stay and enjoy your time there.

Do not walk in without letting them know first, or else you will end up going there paying just walking around .... there is no playground or feeding animals , and the horseback rides are just for special needs . So, if you are a normal family who just wants to have a family day to walk in, this is not the place. But you do get to see some animals & petting it a little bit. The place is clean.

We end up just paying $40 just walking around it's not very worth it in my eyes I don't mind paying for the horseback ride but it's not available for us.

My son took part in the equestrian program for riding therapy with school. Although he never actually rode the horse everyone was patient, helpful and encouraging. Everyone was great.

I was here to watch my friend Lucas ride. It was my first time coming to Wind reach and I was blown away. Lucas is visually impaired it was jaw dropping to watch him.

Lucas mother even let me "participate" in the lesson by calling out letters based on the routine that is printed on paper other volunteers are spaced out following the paper as well.

Calling out letters helps Lucas move his way around the arena.

Which is massive compared to where I used to ride. Where I rode 2 arenas could fit into there's easily!

I am a ex horse back rider and even though I was not riding I experienced some involuntary muscle memory and its been at least 4 years since I rode last.

I can't wait to visit again.

I visited Windreach Farm as student back in 2014, during a trip with my previous college program at Durham College (Food and Farming). The place was great and wonderful! Windreach Farm is a well-organized business, and run by several kind, open-hearted, friendly staff that gave us a tour through the farm. We saw horses, chickens and other cattle in the barn, along with archery range and other recreational areas outside on the property. My classmates and I enjoyed our tour and interactive experience of what it’s really like managing and planning a farm. We got tips and advice from the family-run farm owners and volunteers who are informative and knowledgeable about the realistic goals, challenges and rewards when it comes to business for their farm. My favourite spot was where the sunflower fields were. We were also informed about future events occurring at the location and how we can get involved. Their main website and social media also cover a lot of what they do, their services, education programs for various ages and other activities throughout the season, so the farm always has some activities happening. I look forward to visiting Windreach farm again one day, in the future, both as a customer and to get involved in one or several of their programs!

My son has Cerebral Palsy and the hippotherapy program had been a wonderful aid to his development. The staff and faculty are both top notch.
