It's been an amazing experience being here. My husband, my mom, and I all enjoyed the vibe. Kathleen prepared wonderful meals for us, using fresh, "farm to fork" ingredients, and it was delicious.

We had a great time walking in the gardens, interacting with goats and cattle, and learning more about farms. It was a very meaningful day. ❤️

We still have a lot of things to experience and we will definitely come back next year! 💪🏻

On August 17th, I had the privilege of staying at the farmhouse located on the property of Ottawa Valley Farm to Fork in Scotch Bush (Douglas). Two close friends joined me on this farm stay adventure, and we were not disappointed. It was a unique, wonderful experience and great memories were made.
Kathleen was a wonderful host – from booking, to communication, to meeting me on the property - I felt more than welcome the entire time. I was able to pre-order delicious farm fresh products that would be ready upon my arrival. After Kathleen made sure that I was settled in, I enjoyed some alone time in the farmhouse before the other guests arrived.
Everything was spotless and inviting. I admired the beautiful wildflower bouquets that were left in the kitchen & dining room (and anyone that knows me well, knows that I am in love with wildflowers), and was able to relax and read on the gorgeous chaise lounge in the living room. The main focus of the living room is the rustic wood wall, which is constructed of wood taken from the summer kitchen of the original home on the property, circa the 1890’s. The bedrooms upstairs offer amazing views of the farmland.
Once my friends arrived, we immediately went to Brooker’s Cider, which is only about 1km away. I had contacted Brooker’s ahead of time to ensure that they would be able to have us late on a Saturday afternoon, and they were completely accommodating. After a knowledgeable discussion about the types of cider we were interested in, we purchased some to take back to the farm stay, which we enjoyed with some fresh bread and oils. It was the perfect pairing.
We then met Kathleen on the other side their property, the main farm, for some agritourism. We learned so much about their ways of farming; it was very educational. We also had a tour of the unique barn hall, which is perfect for hosting a variety of events. We then headed back to the farmhouse to cook up the delicious pierogi and carrots that we purchased from the farm. We also played in the fields with the herd of goats, feeding them apples and running with them down to the stunning old barn on the farmhouse property.
The next day, after cooking up a yummy brunch and packing up, we headed out to Tooeys Lake on Highway 132 for a late summer swim (read: very refreshing). Kathleen gave us clear instructions on how to get to this very clean, spring-fed lake. It was the perfect way to end our getaway.

Our family had two nights at the Ottawa Valley Farm To Fork farm stay. We enjoyed thoroughly, the tranquility of the location and proximity to quaint nearby villages and outdoor activities. We started our day enjoying a morning cup of coffee, soaking up the beautiful country views and gentle bleat of the farm’s goats. During this visit, we spent one day exploring the area which offers a fantastic array of activities (within or outside the farm). Hiking trails, such as The Eagle’s nest in Calabogie. with breathtaking views is worth checking out.
Kathleen (one of the owners) was a great host. She can personalize your stay to suit your needs, wheather you wish for an agritourism package, a discovery trip of the area or a quiet retreat, she will assist you ensuring for a great geat away. Accommodations are great, and beds extremelly comfortable. We look forward to coming back and explore more, a great place to relax and area to be discovered!
