Kelly and his crew did a great job replacing our crumbling retaining wall into a set of rock stairs! The job was done in a respectable time frame and was under budget, which was very nice since we had a problem come up with the removal of the wall. The original retaining wall was mortared to our house wall and thus was pulling our rock siding off our foundation wall with it slowly over time. When they removed the retaining wall they notified us right away what was going on. They also told us they don't do masonry usually, but took on the job with full confidence and did a pretty good job for not usually doing that type of work. There were some slight problems along the way, but when we pointed out what we would like to happen they delivered! With a smile! Will hire this crew again anytime, and recommend them to anyone looking for retaining wall work!

The guys came SAME DAY, did extra work and were so reliable, clean, fast and professional. We have used SCOOP 2x, once also to clear a burn area. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Big shoutout to Kelly, Hopi, Colin and the crew at Scoop Excavating in Nelson BC. They pay close attention to detail, work hard, and leave the site in better shape than they found it. Especially when it comes to rock walls, they put them back together better than they were when first built. Great experience all around. Highly recommend Scoop Excavating. You can trust this contractor to deliver quality excavations.

We needed a trench dug for an electric line to be buried out to our shed & driveway - Kelly coordinated everything between our electrician and Fortis so that our yard was disrupted for the least amount of time. His crew was great - everything (paving stones, retention wall, irrigation pipes) was dug up and returned good as new within 3 working days.

I highly recommend Scoop Excavating!
They did a great job rebuilding my rock wall and steps.
Kelly Toole was prompt at responding to my request and giving me a very reasonable estimate. His crew - Colin, Jeff & Hopi are a hardworking team who take pride in their work. Not only are they friendly but also reliable, efficient and highly experienced. I’m still in awe of how quickly they got the job done and I couldn’t be happier with the end results.

Great work from a great team. Scoop did a fantastic job in my yard. Beautiful stone wall, hard landscaping and a new concrete path. Can’t recommend enough.
