While I can’t quite break the habit of calling it Galloway’s, Goodway’s is an amazing option for hard to find ingredients at reasonable prices. Their selection of spices, flours, grains, nuts, etc is second to none, and the quality is spectacular.

A hidden gem in New West, with great ingredients and quality spices, at very reasonable prices. The ladies working there give hearty advice on products too. Even after moving away, I still drive 10 km back to here to shop for nuts and chocolate chips - to make my signature shortbread cookies. Their chocolate chips Caillebaut are not too sweet and made of real cocoa 50-70%!

I absolutely love this shop. What would New Westminster be without the shop. So many items to choose from any small portions or behind the counter choose your own weight of whatever you wish to choose. I have to agree there is one woman that works there who is rather a piece of art, don't take her personally all the other women are really nice.

I just left here moments ago and I'm quite disappointed from the unpleasnant service provided. I went to the counter and greeted the three lady staff to get there attention as they were just chatting. Neither one acknowledge, or respond/ greeted me. I then went over to the the trail mix section and the one lady staff with the maroon color curly hair had her back directly towards me. After a few hesitation and patience, I kindly asked for some assistance and immediately with her condescending demeanor say's to me "you have to go to the counter to place an order. I explained I did. There was no reason for that kind of behavior. It was not busy, there was no line up, about two or 3 customers in the store just looking around. Nonetheless My family and I have been coming here and supporting their business for about 18years back when it was called Galloways and after today's encounter I don't know. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not impressed. Why not just help your customers? . I'm not asking you to go above and beyond. Just acknowledge and greet your customer's. I shouldn't have to chase all awhile three employees are standing there just talking.

I still remember the original store, Galloway’s decades ago on Robson Street. Now renamed Goodway’s (due to new owner), it is still the same decades later with unique quality products and great customer service. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the array of spices sold here. You’ll find an ample variety of nuts, grains, flours, & imported items. If you are needing a specific spice or ingredient to make that special dish, this is the place to go. This place has ingredients for all types of cooks including gluten-free, vegans, vegetarians, etc.

The staff is helpful and friendly. They have different store hours (see attached photo). They are located on Sixth street in New Westminster (just across the street from Royal City Centre Shopping). There’s parking on the street or just as easy, park in the Royal City Shopping Centre for free. Exit at the doors near the food court and Goodway’s is across the street.

Rude rude rude....terrible customer service. I asked one of the ladies where the lavender flowers were, she rudely said we only have the French and pointed to where they were, I found the ones I wanted right beside the french.

They do not understand the value of customer service or common courtesy.

I like this store and the products they sell, but I won't be spending any money here as long as they peddle ridiculous right-wing pandemic conspiracy "literature" at their front door (at a "sanitizing station," no less).

Difficult not to observe the irony of other reviewer's comments about being made to enforce store capacity limits during the height of the pandemic; why bother with any protocols if you've decided to tell your customers this was all a hoax?

What a pity, because it's otherwise a great little shop.

Good selection, great prices. Though I was 'pulled over' by one of the ladies for using my own bag to shop rather than their basket.

"We don't put things in the bag until they're paid for," she said after I plunked a bag of beans worth 3.99 into my reusable.

So, I stopped shopping, paid, and now I'm in the market for a friendlier reception.
