I ordered 4 jars of Bessette Creek Farms BC garlic powder, and the smell and flavour is incredibly pungent, fresh and delicious! Unfortunately, only 2 jars arrived originally; however, I emailed the company and they were incredibly apologetic and sent me the additional 2 jars through express mail the next day. Additionally, the company added SEVERAL garlic bulbs (for free) to the package containing the missing garlic powder, I imagine as an additional apology. The company had responded within a few hours, and delivered the additional garlic powder the next day with no issues, so the extra garlic bulbs were truly representative of how much care they put into their company and customers. The garlic bulbs are incredibly fresh and have a wonderful, powerful garlic flavour. Truly some of the most fresh and delicious garlic/ garlic powder we have ever tried! I definitely recommend trying their garlic if you love fresh, delicious garlic and great customer service!! 🧄💕

I placed my first order with Bessette Creek at the end of June for Red Russian XL and Rocky Red garlic, and when it arrived, I was impressed, the bulbs looked fantastic.

Unfortunately, only half of my order showed up in early September: 5 heads of each variety instead of the 10 I paid for. I called, and Brandi-Lee was very apologetic and quickly arranged for the remainder to be sent out.

Today the second package arrived, the Rocky Red matched the quality and size of the first shipment perfectly. The Red Russian XL, however, was a different story. The bulbs were dramatically smaller (see attached photos). From experience, I’ve been growing garlic for over 10 years, I weighed the shipments: the original five XL heads came to 15.1 oz, while the six replacement heads (sent to make up the difference) totaled just 9.6 oz. That’s a 36.4% reduction in weight, even with the “extra” head.

When I called to clarify, I was told the additional head was meant to compensate for the missing XL bulbs, and was told that the smaller cloves would grow to nearly the same size. While possible over multiple seasons of selective planting, this is highly unlikely given the size gap for what will be harvested next year. That means half my garlic harvest next year will be dramatically smaller. I found her explanation misleading. I run an online gardening group with 280,000 members, and in my experience, the claim that the size will almost be identical for harvest next year doesn’t hold up.

To be fair, Brandi-Lee did offer a refund because I was unhappy, which I declined. In my mind when you screw up twice in a row you don't ask if a refund is acceptable, you just refund the money, and fix the problem.

I respect the challenges of running a small business, I'm a strategic marketing consultant by trade, but between the incomplete first shipment and then receiving smaller substitutes for the second, the overall experience left me disappointed.

The first impression for product quality was great, but the follow-up failed miserably, and after two chances, I won’t be ordering again.

If you’re considering buying from Bessette Creek Farm, keep my experience in mind.

A superior product, the garlic powder & granulated garlic has the nicest flavour. The fresh garlic does not compare to the stuff we buy at our market on the island. A taste above all other. Product was well packaged & arrived quickly. Thank you.
