Excellent service and they always have a brisket on hand when I need it. Love their meat selection and quality of cuts.

I used to love this place but the last few occasions the selection was limited and the staff not knowledgeable about the products at all, despite the large posters by the cash register showing the various cuts of meat. I asked for a pot roast and after waiting over 20 minutes for something to be cut in the back I was presented with a pork shoulder roast. Management/ownership needs to provide training and run the shop as a professional butcher.

Kudos!
Following my initial review from about a week ago expressing disappointment with the quality of meat cuts I purchased, management reached out to me and arranged to make things right. Kudos to KJL Meats…they take customer satisfaction seriously!

Initial Review below:

Disappointed! Bought two Rib Eye steaks.
Paid $59.09/kg at the Riverside Market. Got them home and my wife said they don't look like Rib Eye. I cooked them medium and medium rare but she was right. They were tough as a boot...think they were sirlion cuts. Disappointed as the week before we had the smoked pork chops from the North River outlet and they were delicious.

Fresh and local. Large selection. The maple bacon is amazing! Carry a good variety of local sauces. Tasty coleslaw and potato salad; grab early in the day because it's usually sold out by the late afternoon.

The very best sausages on pei. It's a little pricey but well worth it, as it's local meats and the quality is second to none.

My favorite local butcher!
Their fresh-daily rotisserie chickens are a MUST! At the same price as their competitors, I like knowing the chickens are sourced locally and are made using fresh ingredients!

You can also browse from a wide variety of different meat products; sausages, schnitzel, donair meat, kabobs are just a few of the available items!

Quality meats. Love their thick cut bacon, but the sausage is what keeps me coming back - they have a dryer crumble texture that's not fatty or greasy.
