After boarding our dog we are happy to board again. He had a great time. I highly recommend doing the Kong treat and playtime add-ons.

Update: it's been about 1-2 years since we started taking our dog here. He is never stressed going in or coming out. He is happy which means we're happy. At his previous kennel, dogs were always crying and barking, too many dogs in one place, staff just loaded them in and didn't care for the dogs' well-being -- they just took fear and said it was attitude problems. Clearly they don't understand dogs, but Dr Janet and her team are the complete opposite. We are never worried about our dog at this kennel knowing he is in capable hands. Thank you Dr Janet and team!!

Update: it's been 3 years since we started boarding our dog here. I see a few reviews complaining. It's normal to need an appointment to view the kennel especially considering how busy things can get (i.e. weekends, holidays, summer break). As for attitude, it's a kennel, not a nail salon. Their priority is with the animals, as it should be. They're outstanding with high reviews for a reason.

Such a caring and wonderful staff. I've never thought that a dog would be happy to go to a kennel, but seeing our dogs reaction when she arrives here makes us feel very confident that she's living comfortably on the days she's not home with us. It's worth the drive for us to get here knowing we don't have to worry about dog when we're gone!

The owner is extremely rude for no apparent reason... I called in seeking information on boarding my dog.
The lady had such an attitude, and was so rude for me asking basic questions that I’ve asked multiple other kennels with no problem at all.

For example, I asked if I could come check out the kennel and she said I need an appointment and the soonest I can come was in a weeks
time
Which is a red flag. I’ve worked at a kennel and this is not a good sign. A week? You should be able to view a kennel at any given time. Again I didn’t say anything but just asked why.

She was extremely rude throughout, I asked (very normally and politely) “Im just wondering why would I have to wait a week just to view the kennel” she responded in such frustration and said “ okay you know what I don’t even need to be explaining this to you”.
😅Gee, maybe don’t own a business if you don’t have basic customer relation skills and find it frustrating answering the most *basic* questions that encompass the business you’re running. And again just to add context, I was very polite.

I also asked if my dog was boarded there, I would like him not to be handled and would prefer him to just use the in and out run (as he is used to this and would be best suited for him because he can be fearful and stressed being handled from strangers)

She refused and pretty much demanded that they have to handle my dog which makes no sense

Again I’ve worked at a kennel, we have never forced someone into handling their dog.
If they stated there dog is better off not handled and does well just staying in the in and out run, being fed once a day we respected it.

Anyways, that’s still understandable, but the complete rudeness and attitude I got over the phone for the simplest questions is absolutely not okay.

The kennel itself is super clean and looks very lovely for dogs. However, the owner is extremely rude and did not follow proper feeding instructions. Even though we had to pay for 2 kennels since my dogs needed to be separated while eating, they still put my small dog in with the large dog while she was eating resulting in her coming back almost 5kg lighter after only 2.5 days. I won't be coming back because of my own personal experience.

I have been taking my sheepadoodle to Abby lane kennels for a few years. He absolutely loves being there. The owner is extremely kind and conscientious to know the needs of each dog. She always follows through with what you want for your dog. Most importantly, I can go on a trip and know he is happy and well cared for .

Janet is a fabulous caretaker. I have left my dog here twice (booking for a third) times in the past 6 months and he always comes back happy and healthy. I would highly recommend her for anyone looking to board their dog in a safe, reliable kennel.

We boarded our 2 dogs here as we were getting married and needed a place for them to stay during the very hectic festivities! The staff were friendly and helpful. My dogs tend to be a little anxious and haven’t always had the best of experiences at kennels. However when we picked them up, they seemed to be happy overall.

Dr. Walters is an excellent, caring person and a great veterinarian. We have dealt with her for nearly 30 years and she has provided care to our many cats and dogs when needed. Abbey Lane Kennels is not an exciting looking place from the outside, but we know that our animals are going to be cared for and SAFE!
