My favourite spot to visit on Bowen. The vast array of foods are all prepared locally with amazing skill and beautiful ingredients. From soups to pizzas to irresistible curries and hummus..the foods and atmosphere are unique and divine..The pies are phenomenal..My go to whenever I visit!.. The cottages and farm are gorgeous and a beautiful venue ❤️..

We had an incredible stay at Alderwood Farm! The cottage was charming, spotless, and thoughtfully equipped—it truly felt like a home away from home. The farm store was a delightful surprise, stocked with the most delicious foods and treats at excellent prices. Everything we tried was fresh and bursting with flavor—the lasagna and pies were standout hits. Honestly, we don’t understand the comments about the food being pricey—it’s much more affordable than dining out and far superior in quality to many restaurants.

Jules was an exceptional host—warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. Meeting the farm’s adorable residents, like the emus, chickens, and the superstar Tony the donkey, was such a treat. They added a wonderful and memorable charm to our visit.

One of the best parts is how easy it is to get to Alderwood Farm from the Lower Mainland. The travel time is surprisingly short, and the ferry is quite inexpensive compared to other routes. Yet, once you’re there, it feels like you’ve escaped to a completely different world—so peaceful and serene. It’s the perfect balance of convenience and that “far away” feeling.

Such a lovely location with a wonderful host. The serenity of this place is palpable. Tony the donkey is a character (we recommend bringing him some carrots so that you can become friends), the geese have strong personalities, especially Fred, the Emus are something else and the dogs are adorable.
It’s a 5 minute drive from the ferry and restaurants.

Loved this farm! A unique place where you can enjoy a quiet and peaceful weekend in. Great people, super pet friendly, great place for couples. If you are lucky, you will hear the 32 year old donkey named Tony “singing” Nessun Dorma

I just visited the front store. The dill hummus is really good, and we enjoyed the fresh peach/apple pie. They sell lots of ore-made dinners in the cooler, beeswax candles, chocolates, etc. It is a cute little place to visit while traveling around the island.

Loved our stay here with the owners and their extended animal family! Highly recommended if you’re looking for an easy going stay while on Bowen Island. Super central, with a 8 minute drive to the centre in Snug Bay, and less then 5 mins away from some really nice and some hidden bays and beaches. They also make amazing pizzas at their farm! Special shout-out to their lovely dogs, especially Jackson who’s getting up there in age, but still so full of spirit and affection! We’ll definitely visit again.

We had an amazing stay at the cottage at Alderwood this weekend. The farm grounds are beautiful and we loved visiting with the friendly resident donkey Tony. The breakfast basket our host gave us was full of delicious farm fresh eggs, bacon and fresh baked pastries from the farm store. Our host was welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely be back to stay here again!

Beautiful countryside setting with a rustic charm. Delicious continental breakfast. Jules the host was very friendly and accommodating. Loved the donkey and goose! A little on the expensive side, but we did love our stay. Bought the spinach, artichoke & asiago dip from the store there and it was amazing!
