I renovated a house with a large backyard and went to this shelter to adopt 2 dogs. The lady told me that I have to make appointments to see the dog. I can't see everyone at the same time. A dog is not like buying a car! that I have to choose pictures on the internet! A dog is a friend for life! You have to see all the dogs to see which one will love in the new home. Hug and talk to him and get to know his character. Instead of adoption we chose a private place with many dogs and paid 3,000 dollars for a dog that we could have left at the shelter.
In the Europe they will give you dog for walk around shelter, play and take time for meeting. Adoption is for free and after, government pay around 500 dollars for hospital to check dog and start packing (dog food....)

Moving to a remote area, I decided to enlarge my family with two guardian dogs. Upon visiting the Chilliwack SPCA, I recognized their professionalism and high level of caring. I was asked to visit with my current dog to ensure compatibility before making a decision. Thank goodness, as the dog I was most interested in was a perfect fit for me, however it wanted to fight with my senior hound. I subsequently met our Nova. Wow. Now she’s the perfect addition to our family. How that dog could ever end up in an SPCA is beyond me. Neighbors from down the mountain as well as family say she is the most loving, obedient, and protective dog they have ever met. She has nurtured the Pyrenees pup that joined us at the same time, embraced all other dogs that have come into her territory, and guarded me with her life.

Thank you to the staff of Chillwack’s SPCA for making my family complete with a dog that has most definitely found her forever home.

Called and left them a message regarding adopting one of their dogs and after 2 days of hearing nothing went online through the whole procedure of filling out there application form and after a week have not heard a word back. It appears the dog now is no longer available. Very unprofessional service especially seeing as we would be ideal candidates having had dogs all our lives,recently retired owning a house with a large yard and next to a forest we would take our previous dog daily.

I was messaging back and forth with the Chilliwack SPCA team to meet a kitten I saw on their website. I instantly fell in love with her and decided to adopt her:) the staff were so friendly and kind especially the one girl who helped us with the entire adoption process (I can’t remember her name) She walked us through everything and made the process nice and easy:) 10/10 experience!!💕

On Dec 4 my band has Christmas dinner Chika always travels with me. Our motel is aid. My uncle and myself look after Chika I am having a very hard time without her. I get Tia episodes she helps me through themnever get a response from you sister superior that took Chika from message

Very friendly staff ready to help support pet adoptions. They let us visit with our new family member to make sure the match was good. They also would rather reverse an adoption if it doesn’t work out in the first few weeks but experiencing the animals was the better way to go.

They went out of their way to help us. We had a break in and all pet food was gone. Having a rough month and with saint bernards that's bad. The spca covered us for food for 2 weeks. That's huge. I have a growing puppy who eats 18 cups twice a day.
