We have had our Portie for almost 5 years now and she is a welcome addition to our family. Our extended family has 3 Portie's from Belouro and if we could take another on - we would in a heartbeat! Gillian is very diligent in the process to match the perfect puppy for our family. It is obvious that Gillian provides excellent care and attention for the Portuguese Water Dog breed. It truly shows through all that she does for her dogs and the puppies she breeds. I would definitely recommend Belouro Portuguese Water Dogs.

Our beautiful and healthy Belouro Portie will be turning 11 at the end of this month. She has been a wonderful addition to our active family. Belouro was very diligent in the process to ask us lots of questions and test the puppies to ensure that the perfect match was obtained. It definitely was the case for us. The care, attention and passion that Gillian has for the Portuguese Water Dog breed and her puppies is wonderful and shows through all that she does. Hard to believe that our Portie is now 8 years old. What an amazing pet she is. As soon as you speak to Gillian, you will understand that her commitment to the highest breeding standards is second to none. She continues to support her clients throughout their dog ownership experience with recommendations and answers to their questions. We have not had a single health issue with our dog and her temperament is wonderful with people of all ages. If you have decided that this breed is for you, Belouro will not disappoint. Be prepared to answer questions though because Gillian is diligent about making sure these dogs go to the right home. It's part of that excellent standard that she demands as a conscientious breeder.

Have to say that the Portuguese Water Dog we purchased from Gillian & Frank has been such a wonderful blessing and add on to our family!

“Jack” named after Captain Jack of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies is well mannered, gets along well with children, adults, loves to play with us, go for walks, chase snowballs and play with other dogs!

As well, our experience with Gillian & Frank has been truly wonderful, as it is easy to discern that they truly love both the breed and their dogs/puppies and as it has been over seven years since we brought Jack home we are still in touch with them on a regular basis.

My wife and I are always available should you have any questions and once again we think no one is as good with Portuguese Water Dogs as is Gillian & Frank!

It was 3 years after the loss of our dog that we decided it was time for a new addition to our family. We were retired and living on a lake in Muskoka not far from Belouro. We searched Belouro online and saw the notice that a litter was due November 28, 2008. So that was the beginning of relationship with Gillian and her beautiful Portuguese water dogs. We were overwhelmed with their home setup for the puppies. They were raised in their home with toys, slides, and background music playing. Today Juno continues to be a healthy playful companion and enjoys the music we play when we go out. He has been great with our three grandchildren and anyone or dog he meets. He likes to entertain us and loves to cuddle. He loves it when I bath, clip and groom him when needed. We would agree with the other owners comments and highly recommend Gillian and her Belouro Portuguese Water Dogs.

They were both awesome from the 1 st day with us. Extremely well socialized, super healthy,could not have had better experience.

There is nothing negative we can say about our experience with Belouro Kennel. We have had a relationship with Frank and Gillian that started with the purchase of our first PWD in 2007 and consequently our second in 2010. It was their in depth screening procedure that convinced us a decision to go forward with was the absolute best way to go. Their background in breeding and health of the breed is at the forefront of their kennel thus we have had a terrific success with our dogs and will lead us into our acquisition of our third PWD in the coming week and we can’t wait!

In defense of my husband's review above, we came out to meet you-a two hour drive, we immediately sent you the $400 deposit (same day), which you never accepted ( I assume by then you had more buyers than dogs and planned to blow us off, as you said "oh, don't worry about that" when I asked if I should re-send). You claimed your email wasn't working after several messages/weeks went by with no response and we called. When we asked for photos, you said your family was in crisis and that we needed to be patient. That is the last we heard from you. We were patient. If you had too much interest in the dogs, you could have been honest with us. We have NO record of text, calls , or emails from you, and we provided you with two cells, two emails, and our home number. I find it hard to believe you couldn't reach us. We enjoyed meeting you and the dogs, and were really disappointed with the outcome.
