We first contacted Lorraine about 2 years ago after a couple of websites that "choose your breed" based upon a questionnaire suggested Porties would be the perfect choice for both my wife and me. Lorraine was the third breeder with whom we spoke and, as the saying goes, the last. We have found her so dedicated to the breed, it's CKC standard and working history that we are regularly amazed.

We now have our second puppy from her and, as we are in the 'Breeding' programme, she has chosen so well for us. Winston and Coco have been to a number of shows and performed so well: they are naturals. And the Water Work she gets Winston to perform is outstanding. But, best of all these two are such smart and loving pets that we cannot imagine a time without them.

If we were younger we'd be back to visit Lorraine for another choice, as time goes by, for more fur babies. As it is, we will have two of the best and brightest dogs anyone could wish for, for a very long time.

We would, and have, highly recommended her and been able to supply one successful referral.

Lorraine's attention to breeding quality temperament pups is what attracted us to her. This is not a puppy mill it is of high attention to sustaining the breed of the Portuguese Water Dogs. My wife and I observed a water dog trial or practice and all the Big Bay Water Dogs are very impressive. My wife and I just want a pet from this breeder, not looking to compete. Lorraine conducts many tests with the pups to insure the temperament will be a good match for us. Not everyone is suitable for a rescue pup especially if it will be your first pet experience. Breeders like this set you up for success. Beware of puppy mills, this is NOT a puppy mill.

2nd time PWD owner. First time with Big Bay. At first it was a tough choice to change breeders. We as a family love are Portie and when we met Lorraine we knew she was the breeder we wanted to be associated with. She showed her passion for the breed and was extremely knowledgeable about the dogs and the care for them. She is very supportive through out the entire process. I highly recommend this breeder. Oh and her dogs are gorgeous with amazing temperaments. Very obvious when you meet them. Thanks Lorraine

I’ve never had one of Lorraine’s pups but I’ve met lots of them. Beautiful dogs from a responsible breeder. If I get another Pwd Lorraine’s dogs would be on top of my list. Now all I need to do is talk my wife into it!

Also worth noting Lorraine is a great trainer with lots of ideas and advice

Azzy is an absolute professional. As a lifelong vegan and animal lover, I have so much Respect for her!! She is a truly dedicated animal lover who loves and dedicates herself to the well being of her furbabies. I am beyond thrilled with my beautiful new addition to our fur family. Azzy is an empath who truly cares for animals, their health, happiness and safety. More people need to learn from her, and work this hard to find good homes for pets. I have so much admiration for beautiful Azzy!! She is a rare soul in this world!!! ♥️🕉🪷

9 years ago we got our very first PWD from Big Bay. We had dog experience but never a PWD. Lorraine Wilson was extremely helpful with every aspect - she sent us home with a home package that helped with initial training, schedules and what to look forward to. We moved on to now owning 4 PWDs and competed in multiple competitions to win multiple awards. We could not be happier with Big Bay PWDs as throughout our 9 years they have always been there for us.
