Wow. Had booked a tasting on some recommendations. The wine did not disappoint. Firstly the location is stunning. Nice indoor and outdoor tasting area. The wines just took it to another level. Tried a “few” and really not a bad one from the whites to the reds. Some super interesting varieties and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Ended up order a case to be shipped home. Would highly recommend a tasting.

I had a wonderful experience yesterday at the Black Hills Winery in Oliver. What a beautiful setting! We sat on the patio next to the soothing sounds of water flowing into a sparkling blue pool. The views are amazing and it is so peaceful. The wine tasting offered a variety of red and white wines and each one was excellent. I’m usually a red wine drinker but the selection of white wines offered was surprisingly delicious! Every one!
My friend and I shared a variety of tapas. Each choice was fresh, delicious, and attractively presented. One of the things that most impressed me was the professionalism, knowledge and kindness of the staff! Our server was Katharine and she was so gracious and personable! Highly recommend it! Will be back!

Val was absolutely amazing today. We came in with a group of 5 and she was a delight. Catered to everyone in our group, offered excellent suggestions, was so fun to talk to. I would come back just to see her but we all bought bottles and had a fantastic time.

What a wonderful experience!
We popped by on a whim, as the winery looked nice, and we were blown away by the service and personal touches during the wine tasting. All the staff and managers were very knowledgeable and attentive. Not to mention, the wines were incredible.

In fact, the service was so outstanding that even if the wines hadn’t been amazing, we still would’ve been impressed.

We became wine club members on the spot and can’t wait to come back again ASAP.

If you haven’t added Black Hills to your list of stops, it’s a must!

Let me preface this review by first saying that I have travelled to many wineries around the world and had wonderful experiences. I was looking forward to visiting Black Hills during our visit to the BC wine region. The atmosphere would be best described as a ‘fish bowl’ with the glass surrounding the patio. The staff presented the impression that they would be happier elsewhere than stuck there serving wine. No one appeared interested in showcasing the wine selection or mentioning anything about the particular wines. This was my first experience where they poured their most notable wine into the glass that was previously used. There are many beautiful wineries and fantastic wines in that region, you don’t have to waste your time and money there.

I selected this winery for my birthday trip thinking that I would have a lovely experience here. I planned this trip with my girls and the tasting experience was falsely advertised at $20 on their website. After our tasting they said it was $25 per person plus tax (which is a rip off since most places are $5-15 for better wines). As someone that works in the industry I casually asked if there was an industry discount but the staff said they only do discounts for local people in the industry (which I’ve never heard before). I found that unprofessional and rude considering all the other lovely wineries in the area give some type of discount to people in the industry. I would not recommend this winery because of the low quality of the wines and staff.
