We decided we were ready to get another puppy, a year after losing our 15-year old golden. We were really pleased when our name made it on to the puppy "waiting list." Judy answered all our questions and made a point of finding out what kind of owners we would be, including how we saw our life with our puppy. We were kept informed throughout the pregnancy and followed the puppies progress after they were born. It was easy to see from the photos posted regularly, that the puppies were being cared for extremely well, including being well socialized. The puppies had extensive temperament testing before homes were chosen, which also helped ensure that there was a good fit between puppy and new owners. In our case, Judy told us our puppy would be able to take us in any direction we wanted and this was true. She has a wonderful personality, sweet but also entertaining and original; she has proven herself to be a quick study at all manner of dog sports and she has blown me away with how smart, agile and enthusiastic she is. Everyone in the neighbourhood loves her too and she loves nothing better than to meet people and be patted (endlessly). She is exceptional and I credit Jim and Judy with their careful breeding, their extensive knowledge about dogs, dog behaviour and development that got our Golden off to such a great start. I wholeheartedly recommend Blueheron Goldens. To me, they are an example of everything you would want in a breeder.

In the past 20 years, my husband and I have purchased two Golden Retrievers from Blue Heron Kennels and we will soon be getting our third - a puppy - this summer. Absolutely Wonderful In Every Way!!!

Our experience was absolutely wonderful! Both Judy and Jim are friendly, kind and a pleasure to deal with.

They take great pride in their work, and their love for their dogs is unquestionable. The quality of their puppies is extraordinary. They are knowledgeable and experienced breeders and provide constant updates about their litters. Their facilities are immaculate and cozy. There is no doubt that they truly love and care for each one of their dogs as family.

Rightfully, their waiting list is long as they are searching for the best homes possible for their puppies. We can attest to the fact that the wait is worth it!

We picked up our new Golden, Percy, about 5 weeks ago and he has the best temperament, personality and physique of any Golden we have ever owned. He is an absolute treasure.

Every day is a joyful adventure with our new Golden and it is all thanks to Judy and Jim!

I can’t say enough good things about Judy and Jim. They took the time to meet us and understand why we wanted a new puppy and then presented us with one within three months. Their puppies and sires are first quality and they are proof of Jim and Judy’s love and commitment to the breed. Judy has always been prompt and kind, even when I’m sure I was a bother. We correspond frequently on our “George” as they still show an interest in his progress after eight months.
I would highly recommend their kennels to anyone, whether they are first or seasoned owners of a Golden Retriever.
