My husband came to Terrace to work. We booked here, despite a couple of bad reviews. We are in the back trees area, which is somewhat private. The staff are friendly, the laundry area clean. So far we have found it to be quiet and affordable. It is out of the way, so no highway traffic. The front area is open and grassy, so not a lot of privacy, but if u r only staying for a night or 2, not a big deal in my opinion. Propane fires only. Thought it was a little odd to have to weed whack my lot, but I put it down to having my privacy when I am staying there long term and they supply the tools. Overall, I have found it to be a really good place to stay and appears to be well kept up.

I stayed here last year, 2022. Cindy did her best and located a site for us as we needed a long stay. A really nice person who went out of her way to help us. This year, 2023, the owner (her husband) out of the blue, apparently came to everyone who was staying there and told them to get out. He said they were closing. I've only heard negative stories about this guy but never met him. Folks who had long stays booked were kicked out with no other options available. I checked their web site and it says "no sites available" Looks like the old guy closed it down. Sad because there is real need here for sites. But think twice if he opens up again because you may get the boot one day. I've been told he's done this before. Power was an issue with no breakers on the poles, they are kept in a locked shack and CAUTION some poles were wired poorly or incorrectly causing damage to people's property, internet only really worked up front, so it worked fine for me but terribly for others. I've heard a lot of negative stories but sadly not many positives. I will add, our stay worked out well.

The staff was grumpy right from check-in. Were not very kid-friendly. You have to now your own space if you want the grass cut. Sign at office indicates there are the tools available. You get the feeling they are watching you at all times. We were told we were too noisy at 10 pm when just a few couples were sitting around a campfire (which we had to supply), quietly I might add. Even though local traffic frequently drives in and around the site at all hours of the night. Some moving through pretty quickly and others very slowly like they are checking your lace out. The only good thing about this place is the back few sites are amongst the trees and are more private, but are mostly taken up with residents working on the area and are more permanent. The front half is like an open field , but has full hook ups. I do not recommend this campsite at all. Did not feel welcome or comfortable for the whole stay .

Beautiful area, terrible management including the owner. They denied us laundry for no reason at all. Told not to stream using their free wifi. Threatened daily that they would kick us off the RV site due to them not liking us or our travel trailer due to it being older and not a 2000 or newer. Huge wasp nest in tree nearby.
Do yourself a favor, skip this one was here under 1 month. Managers and owner are not friendly, think they know how to manage a place. Had to call Police due to threats made by management

We stayed here for 3 nights on our way to Prince Rupert. At first we wished we had decided to stay at Ferry Island because that park is in such a beautiful park-like setting, however, we had already booked at Braun's Island. Access is good, we were here in a 40' motorhome. Driving in, there is just a field, with pull through sites in the middle, none of which were used while we were here. Along the edges are back-in sites, with a few units that appeared to be stored there. First impressions are not impressive. Our site was in the back where a circle of sites enjoy the shade of mature trees. The best thing about this place is that it is quiet! There are some units in the back where folks are obviously staying long-term, everyone keeps to themselves. No noise, no partying, not much vehicle traffic coming and going. The office/washroom/laundry building are adequate. WIFI access was great! This place should join Passport America to build it's profile!

I wish there was a "5" option as I'd probably have gone that way, as in 3.5.
We relocated here for two nights as the place we were at was closing for the season. Loved the laundry, didn't check out the bathrooms though as we had the full service - which was great. We were in site 23, if I were to go back I'd probably look for something on the opposite side, more closed in, even if I had to sacrifice the sewer connection. Convenient location; central yet rural.
The negatives for me were that the sites could be a bit more established, picnic tables were a bit rough and there seemed to be less tables than sites and the grass was getting up there. Significant bugs - bring a thermocell if planning to sit outside. Oh, and no firepits.
But I also do understand that this place is more set up for workers staying longer, and I would go back, I'd just try for the more treed side.

We stayed at this campground twice this past summer. We generally stay at ferry island but they had no vacancies during the busy fishing season. That worked out well for us as we will now always stay at Brauns. Pleasant helpful staff. Quite, close to town. Worth the look, you won't be disappointed.
