I wanted to see what Bruce’s Country Market had. I was surprised to find some stuff there that I wanted to buy. It has lots of home-made gifts, organic food items and fresh bakery and meats. There is even a café area to order some breakfast or lunch. The staff there were very nice too. If you are coming through Lougheed between Mission and Maple Ridge, I would check out this marketplace.

Amazing market with fresh produce and ingredients, they have a full on deli and dessert selection as well as a restaurant with seating inside and outside. Family run since 1948! They have the best salmon candy and smoked salmon jerky around. A little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for!

Bruce’s Country Market in Maple Ridge is our go-to for seafood—we always buy our BC salmon and Halibut by the box here! It’s also a fantastic place to grab fresh fruits, veggies, breads, and even last-minute gifts. Most of what they carry is locally sourced, which we love. The quality is always top-notch, and the friendly, small-town feel makes shopping here a real pleasure. A local gem!

The best smoked salmon ever, is sold here at the deli counter, get a half pound of double smoked sockeye, and their candied trout to try some yourself, so good, no fishy taste. It is the richest, flavourful, perfectly oily, makes other smoked salmon taste like cardboard. It is even better than Prince Rupert smoked salmon at Dolly's, the real deal. I have tried smoked salmon at countless other stores in Pacific Northwest, and this place has the best. The salmon jerky is good too, they sell out quick. They got tasty deli sandwiches too, I love getting a sandwich with the works.

The staff are unorganized and that is on management. Management is asking other staff to call late arriving staff instead of doing it themselves. No one in food prep at all was wearing a hair net. Orders are not passed through to the register and then are also not passed to the food station efficiently. And not a single staff member moved with any sort of urgency, just a nice chill relaxed pace (this isn't that big deal, but I'm surprised to see that management isn't pushing for speed and efficiency).

Prices, however, seemed reasonable. And the quality of the food served was what one would expect from a sandwich shop type place. It takes longer than it should for a sandwich, but the place is busy so try to remember that.

All in all, I would recommend trying it... But I definitely won't be returning for a second bite.

Go here for fish. Great deals, great atmosphere. Wonderful people. And...they jave a garden center as well this time of year.

the staff here are super attentive and friendly. we got some bratwurst from here and it was perfectly juicy and flavourful. they've got so many different types of foods, health products, gifts, literally anything. the more you look around, you can easily find yourself coming home with more than what you planned to have.
if you live near, and haven't visited, check this spot out. perfect place to go for summer cookout meats and foods.

Love Bruce’s! A staple of the community. Great for seafood especially but the local produce and other items are all great. Highly recommend the salmon jerky, double smoked salmon and really anything there. If you do want salmon jerky, be there early because it sells out daily from what I’ve seen over the last 30 years ( they’ve been open longer).

April 6 Update - happy to say my last 3 visits, there’s always been the salmon jerky. This includes a mid day Saturday visit. Hopefully my luck continues!
