Where to begin! Our experience with BSQ was overwhelmingly positive - as people who have never engaged in any sort of construction project we were very anxious to do our due diligence and make sure we chose the right company to transform our outdoor space.

Enter Alex and his team. We interviewed many different people and with Alex it clicked, he just got it and clearly knew his stuff.On top of being a kind and honest person which was very important to us, he was also budget conscious like it was his own personal project. This was much appreciated as it was easy for us to get off track with all the things we wanted..

Alex had wonderful out of the box ideas that we were happy to implement, he was eager to assist in achieving our vision as well. Sakiko, the BSA admin was also very kind and helpful, she assisted with all of our product deliveries and acted as a liaison with any of the contractors.

Alex's construction team was hardworking and happy to help as needed whenever we had questions etc. We had a misunderstanding with the removal of some shrubbery on our neighbours side and Alex was quick to personally apologize and provide them options for a replacement which they declined but greatly appreciated.

Alex we want to say thank you again for making it easy, we absolutely love our outdoor space now and now eagerly anticipate the warmer weather so we can enjoy it again. We've received countless compliments and even had a food delivery get dropped off with a note " love your front yard design, it is very beautiful!" which was sweet 🙂

We still want that garage fixed at some point so we hope to work with you again in the future!

Alex and his team were fantastic! Our project involved our back and front yard - designing from scratch and installing everything from concrete foundations, fixing drainage issues, building a deck, pergola, two sheds, a sauna with a green roof, plus planting trees and other plants. They thought of everything and were always open to our requests for changes, providing options and educating us on pros and cons of our ideas. We had a tough space with limited access to our yard and they pulled off a miracle making it all come together! Alex also got us in touch with many trades people for things unrelated to our landscaping project too. I would definitely recommend the BSQ team!

Alex was great to work with. His ideas were clearly laid out and he was able to listen to our ideas and incorporate them into our plan. He was very good at editing all ideas, both his and ours, to ensure the project was financially realistic in scope. His unflappable style allowed us to relax and enjoy the process even though we had been through a stressful house renovation a couple of years previously! The team that executed the work were polite and punctual as well.
Our garden has warm and cold weather interest and functions quite well even though two slopes run through the site. The neighborhood kids love coming over through the little gate we put in to get through to the neighbor’s garden and they love to clamber on the sturdy stone walls and stand at the waterfall. Alex has been great on follow up with the few plants that failed to survive a winter and with suggestions of where to go for other garden related purchases, eg. An awning for the deck. I think you would have a pleasurable experience and have a great product if you engaged bsq for your landscape project - large or small. He did a small one a couple of streets away from us and it looks great 3-4 years later, as does ours which was a much larger back garden project. Thank you Alex and the bsq team!!

I came out of our year-long project with more respect for Alex than when we went in. Which is saying a lot because it was a difficult year. He’s not fast, but thorough, and I’d certainly hire him again. He watched the budget closer than I did. Took care of details I didn’t notice. Most important he was a steady hand on the tiller even when I wavered towards the end. I had no idea what we were getting into, but am glad we hired the right team. Even his fees seemed reasonable considering the time and effort involved.

They designed and supervised the creation of a complex Japanese-style garden with a pond, stone work, many plants, concrete driveway and more. They also renovated other parts of our garden. The result is excellent - very happy with it. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that the project took a few months to get started, so we missed a season of potentially enjoying the result.
