Butcher Boys in Vernon is one of those old-school grocery stores that still feels personal. The meat counter is the star here — great cuts, friendly butchers, and custom orders if you ask. I liked the bakery too; fresh bread and pies that actually taste homemade. The store isn’t huge, but it’s packed with essentials, and the staff are always up for a chat or to help you find something. Prices are fair, though not always the cheapest, and the aisles can feel a bit tight during busy hours. Parking’s easy, and there’s a liquor store next door, which is handy. It’s got that small-town charm without sacrificing quality.

First of all, it's near my house, making it very convenient.

The main advantage of this store is that it offers local products, with always fresh vegetables and fruits. Seasonal produce usually comes from local farmers.

The staff is friendly, and there's a wide range of meat and meat products available.

Additionally, here they always have beautiful bouquets.

It is a great local shopping spot.

Awesome small town grocer. They have a great selection of high quality local products like Dutchmen dairy (BEST CHOCOLATE MILK IN THE WORLD!), little creek dressing, chocolate sauces and Helmuts frozen sausages, spice mixes, pies, amazing gelato and many more local fruits and veggies! Highly recommend. Recently, renovated, the store is super clean and well organized. A hidden gem in the valley.

I love this place. I loved shopping here when we were living at the coast but visiting family in Vernon. Such a good selection of local produce during the summer and prices are really reasonable and in some cases for fresh stuff even better than the big grocers down the hill. The meat options are top notch. When we moved to Vernon we ended up close to BB and it's so great to be close to a place that you can rely on for awesome meat and produce throughout the year. For sure you can get some canned and other staples cheaper at superstore or freshco, but for the vast majority of meat at produce the prices are at least as good and the quality is far superior. Want a flat of pop or a ton of canned goods? Go to superstore or freshco. Want most other things? Butcher Boys is where you want to shop with lower prices in a lot of cases and the quality will be way better. All that aside, you also get awesome service from the employees at Butcher Boys as well with custom asks for meat cuts etc! Butcher boys is a sense of community and grocery store all in one.

Baked Goods are Great along with their breads. Their Deli ready meals are deplorable, Butcher Boys Chili was Horrendous more of a Goulash with no chili Flavor. The Shepard's Pie 1.5/5. Not looking forward to the Chicken and Broccoli I bought. The Ham and Cheese Sandwich was off-putting no mention of the bread which seemed like a light pumpernickel. Oh well plenty of other stores in town.
