We'll never go back to grocery store meat after trying this place. We regularly get steak, chicken breast and sausages, as well as free range eggs here. The quality is top tier and the customer service is always fantastic. They will slice the meat however you want, vacuum seal it to last longer, etc. Yes, it's pricy to buy quality meat but it's worth it.

Used to go often as they were always well-stocked and would have good meats (hormone-free, free-ranged, etc). They’d always have whatever specific needs my wife asked for which was great.

Stopped going after a while because they started getting visibly annoyed when I would ask them to modify the products they’d packaged that afternoon. If I wanted chicken skin-on but no bones they would hesitate, only doing it because they recognized me as someone who frequented the store. Eventually telling me they wouldn’t anymore. Not sure if I was in the wrong to expect that, but other butcher shops seemed to do it with less hassle.

I’d still recommend them if you’re willing to pay for the better meats, but wasn’t a fan of the service.

Amazing, high quality meats, chicken, and turkey. We've ordered multiple things from Caprae & Suidae, and it is always a great experience. Their products are locally sourced and organic and customer service is always on point. I LOVE this local shop and highly recommend to anyone looking for high-quality local organic meats!

Meats and produce are a little pricey here but the quality does justice. I’m a regular here and I highly recommend this place to any butcher shop on avenue. Way better quality and friendlier staff than Bruno’s down the road. Their pre marinade products are amazing! Bone marrow is also sold here which is great since I like to make bone marrow butter! Will be back again and again.

Nice meat shop, friendly guy. It's just...wow, horrendously overpriced. Makes Whole Foods and Eataly look discount. Selection is slim, you buy what he has there. You come back when what you want is available. Assorted lonely vegetables, spices sitting around, neglected. Some so dusty they've not moved in years.

If you really like the personalized butcher type service, no crowds, no people, and $ is not a concern, then by all means this is a good shop. Parking out front is easy, driving around that part of town is ok, odd thing for manic frantic Toronto.

My favourite butcher. This store has such great meat. I especially love their truffle beef kebabs! I have tried many of their selections including beef, pork and chicken. All great. They also roast their own beef, turkey and ham and will make a sandwich for you in the store.
There is also fresh burrata and ricotta which is still warm sometimes when you drop in.

Caprae & Suidae is a wonderful shop with the best quality meats I have ever had. Everything is fresh and organic and they have such a wide variety of options, which are not just limited to meat products. There aren’t any butcher shops in Toronto doing what Caprae and Suidae does - unique products and the most amazing customer service. Alfonso is a passionate and knowledgeable person. They put a lot of care into what they do and it shows, making the shopping experience one of a kind. Highly recommend making this an addition to your shopping routine for meats and other goodies!

This is my go to butcher shop, very friendly and knowledgable staff. Beautiful meats, all dry aged and cut to any specific needs. Always makes outstanding meals with the most succulent flavors I have ever experienced.
