First time here and I’m impressed. Tom was very friendly, happy to explain about their clean meat values which is great to know without having to ask questions about each item. As someone who prioritizes clean and quality meat it’s appreciated, but also helpful for those who aren’t as concerned or maybe haven’t thought about the importance of ethical meat.

I was offered a sample of bone broth, asked my name and advised when an out of stock item would be back in.

The prices are more than fair and from what I bought I would say even good compared to other quality meat sources in town.

What more do you want from a butcher?

Pros:
-Central location
-Friendly and engaging staff
-Knowing all the meat is clean: grassfed/ pasture raised without hormones/ antibiotics
- Fair and competitive prices
- Smokies look like some of the best around

Cons:
- I didn’t know about them sooner!

Couldn’t recommend this place more. I love when businesses are born out of purpose. Conscious consumption is something I want to be a part of, so when I know everything is coming from BC farmers it makes me feel a lot better about what I’m eating. If you know anything about meat quality just looking at the product in the display cases you can see the high quality and value. The two guys working were super welcoming and kind. If I had to make one critique , it would be that the operating hours between 10-6 do alienate the entire blue collar working class community. Very low chance any tradesmen, labourers, (like myself ) or anyone working 10 hr days would make it there in time. I got lucky today though !

We've bought beef, pork, lamb and chicken from Tom & Co at Carnist. His knowledge is outstanding and incredibly helpful. The product is first rate - awesome quality. They use the whole animals so other products like stocks are also available. Just stop by and check it out - you'll leave with a new butcher.

To call this the best butcher shop in Kelowna would be an understatement! The team here sources top-tier, ethically-raised meats that are unmatched in quality. Every visit feels like a masterclass in butchery, with the staff offering deep knowledge about sourcing, preparation, and cooking tips. Their selection is both diverse and unique, featuring cuts and options you won’t find anywhere else. The quality of the meat is simply unparalleled—tender, flavorful, and absolutely premium. This shop is a gem for anyone who values exceptional ingredients and expert service!

They take butchering very seriously. They only select animals from local farmers who take excellent care of their animals, feeding them healthy diets, and no hormones, etc. This is the place to go if you care about where your meat comes from. It's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.
