I had an experience with the Co-operative Housing Federation of Toronto (CHFT) and I must say that I am extremely disappointed with their lack of professionalism and unresponsiveness. Despite their claims of promoting a diverse community, I found that they engaged in discriminatory behavior and were extremely rude.

One of the main issues I encountered with CHFT was their failure to return correspondence. I reached out to them multiple times through various channels, including email and phone calls, but received no response whatsoever. It is frustrating and disrespectful to be ignored in this manner, especially when seeking information or assistance.

Furthermore, I found that CHFT not only fails to live up to their own preaching about diversity, but they actively engage in discriminatory behavior. When I asked them about their compliance with the Human Rights Code, they responded with toxic behavior, refusing to address my concerns and dismissing them altogether. This is completely unacceptable and goes against the principles of equality and fairness that they claim to uphold.

Another concerning aspect of CHFT is their Toronto location, which has been closed since 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions. While it is understandable that safety measures need to be taken, it is disappointing that they have not made alternative arrangements to ensure uninterrupted service to their members. Additionally, despite their request to communicate via email, none of the employees have responded to my inquiries, further exacerbating the frustration and lack of communication.

In conclusion, my experience with the Co-operative Housing Federation of Toronto has been nothing short of disappointing. Their lack of professionalism, failure to return correspondence, discriminatory behavior, and toxic responses when questioned about their adherence to the Human Rights Code are all major red flags. Additionally, the prolonged closure of their Toronto location and their employees' failure to respond to emails demonstrate a lack of commitment to serving their members. I would strongly caution anyone considering working with CHFT to reconsider their options and seek out organizations that prioritize professionalism, inclusivity, and effective communication.
