Didn't love the latte or the pastry but the staff and location were both incredible, table service was a nice touch. Will give them another try one day and try thier food.

Food was decent- but the service was not. I ordered the Pesto Chicken Sandwich, which clearly states on the menu that it includes a side of soup or salad. The cashier never offered the choice, and when I asked about it after receiving my sandwich, the server told me I’d have to order a separate side and charged me for it. A scone was also purchased - after asking them to warm up the scone the response I received was “the stoves are closed now”
it was 3 pm.

Overall, not the warmest or most welcoming experience.

A family favourite! The cafe is nestled in the Dundas area with both indoor and patio seating. It serves all the regular espresso based drinks along with baked goods, teas and few plated food options. The retail section has freshly baked breads and a selection of their roasted coffee beans. The Power Porridge Bowl is one of the best I've had of its kind and its sweetness level can be customised. I also enjoy their hibiscus elderberry teas in those cold winter days. Detour is a must visit cafe if you are in the area!

This is a quaint little spot to pick up a coffee and homemade pastry. They serve a lovely breakfast, they have Special pizza events in the summer, great alone or meeting with friends on the patio. The baristas are friendly and welcoming. This little spot has many regular patrons who visit often and are addressed by name. You can purchase products to take home, breads and jams to name a few, and a variety of their coffees. It's a special little café in beautiful downtown Dundas that won't disappoint.

Wow! What an experience 👏
Lunch was great...a delicious breakfast sandwich, americano and a chocolate chunk buckwheat cookie đŸȘ... every bite was fresh and delicious. The coffee was amazing and the cookie was perfect. Everything was made fresh. Try it, you're not going to be disappointed.
Well done Detour 👏 👏 👏

Ordered beans from Detour on Oct 8th, and honestly
what a wait. It took them a whole week just to fulfill my order (not until Oct 15th), and then another two days before the carrier even got the package. Now the tracking says it’ll take 10 more days to get to me, estimated arrival Oct 27th.

That’s 18 days total for coffee beans. By the time they show up, they’re not exactly “freshly roasted” anymore. I’ve ordered from tons of different Canadian roasters before, and most of them ship out within a couple of days. I usually get beans that are about a week off roast, which is perfect.

This is honestly the slowest experience I’ve ever had buying coffee online. Kinda defeats the purpose of ordering from a specialty roaster. Won’t be ordering from them again anytime soon.

When you go to this cafĂ©, don’t expect any service from the staff because you have to find your own table and place your order yourself. After waiting 30 minutes to find a table, we got in line to order breakfast, which also had a long wait. When they came to clear the cups and plates from the previous customers, they didn’t clean the table, which was covered in coffee and sugar stains! After 20 minutes, we asked the same lady to clean the table, and she reluctantly agreed but ended up spilling most of the sugar on my pants without acknowledging it or apologizing! We ordered the avocado toast and the breakfast platter, both of which were excellent. However, the poor service makes me hesitant to recommend this place to anyone.
