EG Vet has been nothing short of outstanding over the past 5 years. Dr Angela, Dr Tran, and Dr Joanne have been amazing for treating our 3 cats. They are upfront and honest and provide a detailed approach on treatment. Tricia and Sarah and the whole team running the front office are also incredible, thank you for always fitting us in on short notice! You all deserve 10 stars!

We trusted East Gwillimbury Vet with the care of our beloved dog, and unfortunately, our experience left us heartbroken and deeply disappointed. Despite spending thousands of dollars over multiple visits—under the belief that our dog would be okay—we ultimately learned, through an MRI at another facility, that his condition had been misdiagnosed for weeks.

Given the complexity of his case and how many times we brought him in to see Dr. Joanne, we at the very least expected a phone call after receiving what, to us, were devastating and shocking results. Not once during any of those visits were we told that cancer might be a possible diagnosis. We weren’t expecting miracles—but we were expecting transparency, and when things took a turn, some level of empathy.

To make matters worse, we were advised to purchase hundreds of dollars of medication to begin treatment on a day that ended up being after he had passed. When we called the clinic to ask about this, there was no apology, no condolence—just a blunt “we do not refund.” No compassion. No acknowledgment of the pain we were in.

We understand that not everything can be diagnosed without advanced imaging like MRIs. But what hurts most is not just the medical oversight—it’s the total lack of humanity and follow-up from a clinic that claims to care.

We write this not to place blame, but in the hope that no other family has to feel so dismissed in a moment of grief. Please do better.

If you want to send your beloved pet to a vet that embodies all the worst aspects of the public health care system, then EGVH is the place for you! Our boy Mochi was a patient at this vet and in May of 2022 he had an encounter with a porcupine, which resulted in him having a couple dozen quills embedded in his muzzle. The vet could not see him so we had to take him to an emergency clinic which was VERY EXPENSIVE (we have insurance but still). That's not the clinics fault but when I called the next day to ask for a follow up consultation with the vet to see if he should get a rabies booster, as apparently is sometimes recommended after a dog is quilled, we did not receive a call back. Ultimately, we booked an appointment with another vet who got us in right away for the booster.

The final straw with this vet happened when I needed to get Mochi's vaccination records in order to enroll him in doggy day care. I emailed them on Thursday June 30th to request the records. By the following Wednesday afternoon they still had not gotten back to me so I called the office. The receptionist was not at all apologetic. She said something to the effect of "Oh yeah, we've seen the email. We'll get back to you when we can." In fact, they emailed me the records a little later the same day but really, what an attitude!

We’ve been going here with our first dog for over a year now. They support staff and RVT’s are all incredibly kind and compassionate. The vets have given me so much piece of mind while at any appointments, or if I call in with any questions. I don’t feel like they are trying to push anything on me. We’ve had a great experience so far. Highly recommend.

The provided emergency care needed for both our cat and dog have been outstanding. Dr. Angela and her team truly care about providing the treatment that is best for both the pet and the owner, but also making sure that unnecessary tests or treatments are prevented. Dr. Angela went over and above by allowing us to pick up our pup after hours so he could spend the night at home.
