I tried calling here just to speak with an expert on lawn care to find out the options for my very elderly neighbour's who's lawn is full of weeds. I've been caring for her lawn trying to help her make it nice like ours. The receptionist was not inviting or helpful or caring whatsoever. I was asking if with the extent of the weeds, if my neighbour's might do better either using a lawn care service with professional products or if the lawn might need to be completely ripped out and start from new. I certainly do not want to suggest something to her without a professional opinion. The lady was quite unkind and said that they are not taking on new clients and will be ending the season soon. I am shocked. Word of mouth is so important for a business.
I have been pulling weeds and raking out creeping charlie by hand, and have come across a new weed to me, quackgrass and realised it's a huge majority of the lawn. Can a lawncare service kill weeds like quackgrass, crabgrass and creeping charlie Or is it something that an escavator needs to remove all the soil and start from scratch. No direction whatsoever and even when I asked "who is a lawn expert" "where do I call for these kinds of questions?" The response I got was " yeah everyone is out in their trucks and we are coming to an end and not taking on any new clients".. photo posted on of the concerns with my neighbour's lawn, the creeping charlie vines come out after the rain with a rake but I just realised a lot of her lawn is not actually grass but this quackgrass.
Plan to call around and hopefully someone will guide me what needs to be done to remedy it.

After a decade of trying to maintain, weed, seed, fertilize on my own with little success I decided it was time to leave this job to the pros. Over the past three seasons Eco-Gro has been my go to service to help get my yard under control. By following their standard fertilizing/weed control plan coupled with yearly core-aeration and two slit-seedings services to fill in the lawn has left my yard with beautiful curb appeal as well as a soft and lush backyard for my kids to play in - without any more "picky" weeds on their little feet! Eco-Gro's staff is outstanding as well! From the head office to their technicians, they really care about their customers and treat your lawn as if it were their own! The Good,the Bad and the Ugly.used them for two years and they didnt have the courtesy to tell us they were not going to be treating our lawn this season. I raised my blades as high as you can and they still bleat about the grass was too short. We never complained about the crabgrass and the spot treatments we used to apply in between their visits. We were so happy using them,we even recommended them to neighbours. This seems to be another of those "conning the customer" industries you only find in North America

Business with good intentions, but not necessarily able to deliver what they promise - either the excuse is that Government has banned used of weed control chemicals and hence the issue.. OR, blame it on the customer to say they did not maintain the lawn as per their instructions...either way, customer pays and gets asked by the company to put in more work to pull out weeds... not sure why one has to pay in the first place and get to do the work themselves...
