I got EVERYTHING in this photo for $8!!!! The staff are all volunteers and are very helpful. This non-profit sells a variety of fruits and vegetables and provides free produce for food-insecure people around the city. The volunteers explained to me that the more people shop here, the easier it is to keep the lights on and fulfil their mission. Beautiful concept. I will tell all my friends to shop here ❤️

@feeditforwardofficial is an incredible not for profit Canadian/Toronto based organization that provides food at discounted prices to people who are socially responsible and for those who have food insecurities.

From ready-made foods to produce, dairy, frozen, and pantry staples, Feed It Forward has been an anchor for many people for almost a decade with their goals of helping to limit food waste and provide relief to their communities with people who need support and for those willing to help take part by limiting food waste that ends up in our landfills.

Everyone who helps keep this place going are 100% volunteers, and nobody takes from the proceeds which are donated to charities and used to help keep this place running. The volunteers are wonderful people, and they are very welcoming!

Shoutout to @chefjaggergordon and both his family and to the volunteers for providing love and support to their communities by paying it forward with everything they do!

Come and support this amazing not for profit Canadian organization and do your part with reducing food waste in both your home and by passing on friendly suggestions to friends and family!

Feed It Forward is a brilliant non-profit that rescues wonderful food which would otherwise go to landfill. The food is available for purchase at this charming, friendly shop in The Junction and is given to thousands of people who have been made food insecure. Plus a whole bunch of other great projects and initiatives. They even offer baskets of free food outside of the store.

Before I knew this, I stuck my head in one day to ask what they were up to😆 I was invited in and given a tour. I still wasn’t clear—may I shop here if I’m not food insecure? The answer was OH YES—if you shop here, we can keep the lights on, and we can feed people. Tell your friends!

Honestly, I think Feed It Forward is so great that I’d volunteer if I wasn’t already trying to get my own non-profit going 🤣 After we plant this year’s gardens, I’d like to find space in the neighbourhood for a public food forest (we have an “unofficial” one already, but I’d love to make a dedicated garden). I think it would dovetail nicely with Feed It Forward’s mission as well.

The food is incredible and everyone is so nice. Today I bought perfectly ripe and sweet golden dragon fruit for $1/each! I usually spend $25-$30 for as much food as I can carry (and always come home with free items). A large percentage of it is organically grown. Delicious prepared foods are made in-house as well.

Super friendly staff!! And I saw them offer some food to a very tired looking UPS driver too, this shows how sweet and caring the people who work here are.

Love the concept of this place. This is how cities are made in my opinion. A place for everyone, promoting sustainable living, reducing food wastage. The people in the store are very kind and have always encouraged me to pick the freshest produce. Definitely visit the store even if you aren’t from the low income category. It keeps them going.

One of the best grocery business models in the city. Everyone should come here first, better prices, your money helps fight food waste that arrives here often in perfect state instead of the dumpster as well as supports our community food banks in the city allowing even more access to food and respecting the carbon footprint of our food rather than tossing it.

Wonderful little fresh vegetables, organic fruit, grocery outlet. Dragon fruit for a dollar two packs of strawberries for $3, pastries from bakeries, fresh breads. And other prepackaged items such as caramel M&M's. I just purchased two packs of strawberries, organic Ginger pieces, two organic Gala apples, four pairs, one of the orange dragon fruits, huge grapefruit, 1 lb of organic Brussel sprouts, happy Planet morning oats mango peach Shake beverage, simple protein energy bites made with coconut oil, and two pastries. And he gave me a No Frill shopping bag for $10 total. Wow!!

i will be back, and certainly recommand my closest friends to discover such place.

Feed It Forward is an important community asset. They have lots of surprisingly good donated food sold for low prices. Many properly stored items like gum and ramen are fine for a long time beyond their "best by" dates. Feed It Forward saves those from the dumpster and sells them, using the revenue to help provide food to those who can't afford it. It's a real win/win/win.
