I have just about wrapped up a 3 week stay at Fresh Start. What can I say? It’s been a wonderful experience. Came here with a post viral condition that has wreaked havoc on my life. I needed to escape the madness of daily life and try to recenter my body, mind and spirit.

Firstly the staff and retreat are amazing. Set on a beautiful ocean back drop makes for the ideal setting to realign yourself. Every single person I have met here has been inspiring and kind, from the staff who are all very well educated in healing while using all modalities, to the people attending the program all of which are inspirational. There have been a number of days here that I felt almost like my old self, prior to the onset of the illness. Other days have been more challenging as your body is going through an intense cleansing/detox but I did not expect for me it would be easy. Healing is not a linear process. I had to allow myself to take the good a long with the challenges.

The food being all Vegan may sound daunting to some but I can assure you it is so brilliantly done you will be beyond pleasantly surprised! Amazing chefs!

Never a dull moment and a pretty intense schedule packed with everything from yoga, mediation, educational classes, reiki, massage, walks/outings not to mention all the cleansing protocols. For me I wish it had been a little less packed in terms of the schedule because I wasn’t able to do everything and had to listen to my body when it was time to take a break which at times lead me to have to miss certain things. That’s nobody’s fault other than the illness I have dealt with and I generally felt supported when I had to take time out for myself. All I would suggest to people in similar positions is to listen to the warning signs when your body is asking for rest and not to worry about having to miss something. Again healing is not linear nor is it the same for everyone.

I would highly recommend this retreat to anyone looking to further their health/personal and even spiritual growth. I will definitely be back. I look forward to taking away what I have learned and continuing to further my healing journey.

Outstanding treatments, gifted (and otherworldly) therapists, counsellors and staff, fabulous plant based meals (served daily with love) and beautiful ocean, mountain and forest surroundings are just a few of the elements that came seamlessly together to make my experience sublime. So much more than I could have ever imagined.

We both recently spent 8 days at the Fresh Start Resort near Campbell River on Vancouver Island and we feel compelled to post how wonderful our stay was. Just finished 2 weeks at this wonderful place. Lost 8.6 lbs. and improved my mobility immensely. Everyone there is caring and very knowledgeable. Beautiful location, delicious food, respectful supportive environment and great camaraderie among guests. Truly life changing.

A truly transformative experience for me. Doing the three week program (you can do 1-3 week programs) helped me release childhood trauma (complex PTSD) and my emotional dis-regulation. The individualized care, extensive treatment, activity schedule and absolutely gorgeous surroundings made this a total life changing experience. I have never felt better. Having been abused as a child and then highly driven in my stressful career until age 35 when I was diagnosed with symptoms of what some doctors label as a bipolar condition, I have struggled my entire life. This holistic and caring approach has changed my life giving me a fresh start.

The inn, The Ocean Resort is right on the ocean and beautiful. Very comfortable clean rooms and service that goes above and beyond made my three week stay felt like a home away from home.

Fresh Start was the perfect health retreat to refocus on healthy eating. The program consists of not only healthy meals, but training and lessons on the benefits to the body of healthy eating. They provide a wide array of daily classes and activities: there was no dull moment! I also really enjoyed the vast fitness activities to choose from: walks, yoga, and exercise classes. The small group size of the program is a real benefit as you receive individualized attention from the staff. The staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable in their specialized fields. They are happy to explain nutritional values and their experiences, in a non-intimidating manner. I have been able to take what I learned here and apply it to my daily routine at home.
