Very disappointing, I don't know what has happened to this business. I used to love their food and friendly staff, even proudly wore their T-shirt and did my part to "Support local" and all that - Now I'm just so disenchanted with the store.

For one thing, you have to actually have some STOCK in order to be a shop, and I have gotten to the point of outright frustration with their LCBO in particular never having anything on the shelves. Please, please go and view my pictures now, it's like this for WEEKS on end, and the staff just say "I don't know" or "Next week" perpetually when you ask them if more stock is coming in.

Please understand that this is not a review I want to write, I'm saddened especially as it is basically the only place in Harrowsmith to get anything.

The butchery is still ok, though not quite as good as it used to be, and the staff seem - and I am sorry to say it and don't wish to attack them at all, but they're more listless and certainly not as jovial or helpful as they used to be.

Come on guys, pick up the ball you dropped please, I actually want my Gilmour's back.

Drove by yesterday and saw the sign for May special of 9.99LB T-Bones and didn't have time to stop. Made a special trip out of my way today to go purchase steaks for supper just to get into the store to find the T-bones priced at 15.99LB after they were already wrapped and weighed. Mentioned the sign outside and was told they were no longer on sale although it is still May. The employee didn't seem to care or try to honor the advertised sale price. I left without the steaks. Putting a sign outside to lure people into the store and then try to charge them 6$ more per LB while the customer assumes they are the price advertised outside. False advertising at its finest and deceitful.

I honestly don't know why anyone would be rating them high anymore. What used to be a charming, well stocked, fresh, and kinda unique environment has certainly gone the way of the dodo. And sure, they were always pricier, but I didn't mind that whenever I passed through town because hey, support small businesses and all.

It's dingy in there now, staff seem relatively indifferent, and they have a fraction of the stock compared to a few years ago. And a lot of that tenth isn't terribly appealing, I have to say.

And prices? Just a few examples ... 10 bucks for a medium "stuffed" chicken breast that had a sliver of ham and a smattering of cheese (that all leaked out anyways when cooking). The price on the board was six bucks a pound for lean ground (err, only if you buy 10lbs that is). Regular old brand barbecue sauce about 50% more than the price at a typical grocery store.

Might be time to put the horse out to pasture? Sad, really. Used to be a given anytime going up 38.

I stopped there yesterday on my way through. I used to love this place but they had almost nothing in the store. I did buy a package of brownies which were so hard and stale I could not even eat them.

My husband and I are from out of town and were going to our daughters for dinner. With the price of food so high we decided to treat them to strip loins. They are a family of 5. They were so excited for the long awaited yummy steak dinner. It was $66 for 4 strip loins that literally were inedible💔😡😩they went in the garbage. There is no way that they should have been that bad. We felt horrible please save yourself money and don't buy steaks there. On a good note the 3 children loved their chicken kabobs
