I'm visiting from Seattle Washington - I wish this restaurant was close to home - I'd be there at least twice a week! The dishes we ordered were full of fresh vegetables, cooked flawlessly, and with large portions. They even honored our dietary restriction and made everything low-salt but super tasty. I really appreciate clean homestyle cooking (without a lot of salt, sugar, additives) when I can find it. In Seattle, food of this quality would cost at least 25-30% more. The staff was very friendly. They also have a Sunday night buffet that looked fantastic - wish I knew that before I ordered takeout!

I looked up on the internet and chicken chow meng should be more than noodles only with a little chicken. The dish was dry and flavourless. I’d stay away.

My wife and I ordered from Golden City today for the first time as we were driving through Sechelt to Garden Bay. We ordered chicken balls, lemon chicken, chicken fried rice, honey garlic ribs, and several vegetarian dishes. Everything was very tasty, and we were extremely satisfied with the quality and portion size. We will definitely order again!

This restaurant has been in existence for forty five years now under the management of the third owners so it is well know to the locals. Quite good flavours as our group of four ordered different combination lunches as well as a Singapore Fried Rice Noodle dish. ..very good. Buffet available on the weekends....

Today is Mother's Day and since many restaurants in the area were closed we decided to check out this restaurant. I'm happy that we did! The buffet has lots of options and they don't use MSG in their cooking. The food is very good and is run by a Chinese family so you know it's going to be good. The staff are friendly and the service is great!

We ordered from here (For delivery) my wife ordered the Special Fried Rice. Tue. Feb. 25th, 2025.

She asked that the rice be cooked well, this time around. As the previous tine she ordered this, the rice was only half cooked and raw.

When we got our order, the rice was (Again) only partially cooked and the Shrimp was bad.

I tried a piece and it tasted awful ! ! I spit it out.

She called the restaurant to let them know. The manager called back, a few minutes later and said they threw the shrimp out.

Why they would serve this and not know the shrimp was bad is beyond me.

We’re contacting the health board and lodging a complaint about this.

Ordered on a Friday night for a third time. Each time is increasingly disappointing. Chicken chow mein and wonton soup were both completely flavorless. The chow mein has no sauce - just steamed noodles with a tiny bit of shredded boiled chicken on top. I would love to support this local business but not if I'm getting ripped off.
