I recently visited Greengate Garden Centres in Calgary and had a fantastic experience! The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and committed to their work. They went above and beyond to help me find what I needed and answered all my questions. The garden centre was well-organized and had a great selection of plants and gardening supplies. I was impressed by the staff's enthusiasm and dedication to helping customers. I highly recommend Greengate Garden Centres to anyone looking for a great gardening experience!

This a great place to buy all your perennials. Great selection from roses, bushes, and trees. They also have a fantastic amount of annuals. I would definitely recommend that you check this place first before going elsewhere. I found all the staff to be friendly and helpful.

Very nice garden center. Maybe the nicest in Calgary. There is a great selection of plants and trees. They also sell many accessories. Very nice store but definitely more expensive for your plants than others. There is lots of free parking.

Update Jan 2021, I've visited 6 more times since my last review, as I am weekly in the area. While the floor staff are helpful (around Christmas and after), I find the ladies at the till, very unfriendly. It doesn't matter what time a day or what day I go, they just seem like they don't want to provide any friendliness to their customers whatsoever. I had talked to the lady manager once too, and I see where they get their training from.

Older review: Less selection in between Christmas and spring but to be expected.
I was wanting to buy a $130 wind chime (wood special made) but it was hanging up & none in boxes. I couldn’t find anyone to help me out.
They have a good selection still but not much for discounted items.
I may have stopped later in the day, but most staff was just waiting to leave.
I’ve purchased items I really like here. Probably better to go in the morning or daytime. I didn’t feel too welcomed there.
It’s convenient on my way home so I stop by. But I’ve been to plenty of other garden centres with more help & advice & friendliness.

I visit this place regularly. It's a great family owned business with phenomenal customer service. Not only do they carry a large variety of plants but they also have the best selection of Stihl power tools and BBQ stuff. One of my favorite retail shops in all of Calgary. It's an absolute must visit if you enjoy your outdoor space.

I had really good time here. Plants were a little expensive but it compensates with the care that is provided. Although I saw some plants really struggling. They had a great selection of plants, pots, soils and other accessories you may need. I would definitely come back.

Pro tip bring a water bottle because it can get really hot inside..

Staff was helpful finding us some houseplants that would be able to grow in our east-only facing apartment. They said these plants were safe for cats but we only found out after our cat ate some of our plant that both are actually toxic to cats. -2 stars

Otherwise the place seems really nice and large enough to store all kinds of different indoor and outdoor plants and tools. We spent quite a while browsing and enjoyed our experience being there.
