Had a great time strawberry picking at Herrle’s Farm! The berries were super fresh, juicy, and just $3.75 per lb—totally worth it. The farm is well-organized and family-friendly, making it a fun outing. Staff were helpful, and the whole experience felt wholesome and refreshing. A perfect seasonal activity if you’re in the area!

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Felt Singled Out and Unwelcome

I visited this strawberry picking farm recently, traveling from London with a group of four at 2PM. The drive took just over an hour, and we were excited for a relaxing and enjoyable day outdoors. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected.

Upon arrival, a female staff member gave us instructions to go to a specific zone to pick strawberries. We followed her directions carefully and stayed within the area assigned. However, shortly after, another staff member (a tall white man) approached us and told us that we were supposed to take a white flag and start picking from a specific row, not just any place within the zone. He said we had to stick to that exact row, and once we were finished or couldn’t find good strawberries, we had to call him again to assign a new row.

This information was never communicated to us initially. Still, we complied and carried on. But around 10 minutes later, the same staff member came back and asked us whether we were finished. We had already purchased a basket and understood clearly that we would be charged based on the weight of strawberries, not on the time spent in the field. So, we found his repeated interruption unnecessary and uncomfortable.

What made it worse—and frankly, upsetting—was that there were at least ten other white visitors in the same area, and he did not approach or question any of them. We felt singled out, as the only brown group there, and this repeated questioning felt like racial profiling.

It completely ruined the mood of our day. What should have been a pleasant outing turned into a frustrating and disheartening experience. I will never return to this place and will advise my friends and community—especially people of color—to think twice before visiting.

Discrimination has no place in customer service, and sadly, that’s what we encountered here.

I love going here with a đŸ€Ą
The train going around the ceiling is something I never noticed before. And we've visited the store before.
The spices and canned foods, as well as the fresh fruits and vegetables, are flavours that I would never have thought of combining.
I'll have no issues sampling everything I possibly can.
It's an absolutely amazing place to visit. Kinda cool 😎 and I'll definitely return before the summer ☀ is done with a đŸ€Ą

My husband and I have shopped at Herrle's for years. And years! Are SOME products pricier than other places? Yup. However, the quality is nothing less than superior at Herrle's. We have purchased their own home grown products as well as products from elsewhere. All have been excellent. For the record, as a former country gal, I know my sweet corn. It is fabulous at Herrle's. Always fresh picked. The husking station outside the store is a very large station and SUPER visible. Having said that, we always take our corn home in the husks. IMHO, it is always best husked immediately prior to boiling it. Well done, Herrle's...keep doing what you're doing!

This strawberry patch is fantastic! Very reasonably priced to go pick farm fresh fruit. Market next door is just as good. Great prices on produce, grass fed butter, jams. Fresh pretzels and gelato! What more can you ask for?

Great home grown food. Busy very busy. No problems getting in and out though. They had the best hamburger buns I've had all year. My wife picked.up peaches that she said we're delicious. Of course I added a piece of fudge on the way out. So good.
