To say I am disappointed with my experience with Hilts is an understatement. We used them to butcher our 10 Turkeys for our small business with specific instructions to freeze only 3 and to cut only 1 of the fresh birds in half. Because of these details I wrote down my instructions and offered to leave them when I dropped my birds, but the guys told me he didn't need them and wrote down what I wanted. Well apparently they should have taken the directions, because they froze ALL of our birds and halved 7 of them!

After several phone calls to the business where they accused us of having given those directions, being told I didn't offer to leave written instructions, saying unnecessary things like "they couldn't put the birds back together", and that "its a matter of he said she said", they finally agreed to refund me the butchering cost - so at least that's something.

But make no mistake, this business' mistake is going to cost me! Refunds I am having to issue will far exceed the money I got back from the butchering. We are a small business and instead of making my last bit of extra cash right before Christmas I am out money and having to make apologies to customers who gave my business a chance.

If you are a small business owner or just generally have any special instructions when getting your meat butchered, GO ELSEWHERE!

We have purchased our beef from Hilts for the last 9 years, usually ordering a quarter cow as well as our holiday turkeys. The meat is fantastic quality and the experience is always excellent!

We have had Hilts prepare our pork for a few years now, this time has to be the best tasting sausages I have ever eaten. We chose the chipotle flavour and OMG, it is so good!! Love Matt and his team!!

Used their serves to slaughter livestock for the Eid celebration; it was a large order (over $1000 for services). They did not package the meat properly despite our repeated request. It appears they get a lot of business for the Eid celebration so they rush the slaughter and packaging process. We will use another butcher in future.

Brought chickens in. They did not disclose that they charge a freezing fee. Added $500+ to our bill.
First and last time we will use them.
