Surprised to find few salmon still swimming in creek last week after "atmospheric river" rainfall! Kudos to hatchery work efforts in securing and preserving fish each year. Hoping next season will be easier for migratory fish.

A very small hatchery but worth the visit! It’s situated between/behind some dense apartment complexes so parking is limited. Non-stop salmon runs; do be extra careful of black bears! Stay on the bridges.

If you have to go to Coquitlam Center for anything, do yourself a favour and pop over to Hoy Creek for a walk along the burbling water. Super accessible but quiet and beautiful, with some interesting info at the hatchery.

What an amazing spot. Wild nature close to home with the salmon hatcheries where you can learn lots about nature and fish. The salmon home return festival is great to educate your self and your children great activities and live demonstration. All year round its great to see live fish going up the stream of water
