Had a great experience adopting our wonderful cat Luna from here very clean. All animals are well taken care off looking forward to seeing the lovely folks that work their.

Met a sweet dog wanted to do an over night to ensure they would work with our family. An hour and a half before the scheduled time to pick him up they emailed us to say he was adopted. I comprehend not holding animals as they want to rehome them asap, however we were serious about adopting him, thinking that we were being responsible by doing a trial run. Now we have regrets and feel like we missed out on the sweetest fella. So I guess for those who are interested in adopting- you’re best to go through the whole adoption process and if it doesn’t work out bring them back rather than doing a trial night.

It was unfortunate for us to receive the email with such short notice considering we read the email just as we were headed out the door to get him so it was a disappointing evening to say the least and has discouraged us from adopting from HSY. Glad he found a home-that’s the important thing.

The purpose of this review is to provide my experience so others are aware, if they like an animal- apparently the best choice is to go through the adoption process as I stated above.
Not once was it suggested/offered that I adopt the dog I was interested in rather than hoping he didn’t get adopted. As well, he had been at the HSY for about a month prior so I didn’t expect he had much interest in him. The disappointing part was the short notice when it came to emailing us. If we lived further out of town that would have just sucked. I will likely adopt from another humane society, as one bad experience can sour it for someone, however this doesn’t mean others should refrain from adoption from HSY they should just be aware of the processes and staff should encourage adoption rather than “bending” their policy

My favorite place to volunteer! Everyone is so friendly and the space is clean. Plus the animals are adorable. Highly recommend volunteering here. The process was quick and easy!

We were there making a donation on behalf of my mom and had the opportunity to meet the staff and the animals being housed. The animals AND the staff were super and they all seemed happy and well cared for. Thanks to the dedicated team for doing what toy do!

Ive had poor experiences and lack of communication with this shelter as well. I feel like people are afraid to leave negative reviews as they don’t want to risk the animals not getting adopted but it’s important to note when improvement is needed

Amazing, amazing staff. I cannot say enough good things about how much they care about the animals they take care of and the hospitality the showed my family when we had to board our dogs at the last minute due to wildfires evacuations
