20% of our meat birds that went in for processing came out missing wings, legs, and whole skin. We paid full price for processing and they damaged our profit margin on our roaster chickens that we sell to customers. island poultries management told me “oh well, nothing we can do, that is a risk you are aware of when we send you the paper work”.
We also now have to weigh and bag the processed birds ourselves after picking them up, which negates the whole point of having a health inspected facility. I was told by their management that this was to cut costs.

Really enjoy their seasoned chicken drumsticks. Very tasty and come out of the oven very chrispy. Nice variety of flavors. I purchase them at Pepper Foods in Victoria BC. 😀

I purchased some of their Farmer's Chicken sausages the other day. They looked really good. I cooked them in my Airfryer. Ended up having to throw them out. Way too much salt in them. I like my salt, but this was even too much for me. Very disappointing.

This company is in the news currently for having its chicken waste dumped illegally by a contractor who’s been fined by the BC government. They clearly don’t care about the environment and the locals of Cobble Hill (Vancouver Island) who’ve been complaining for years.

I recently bought their roasting chicken cut up at Discovery Foods in Oyster River, Campbell River. I will be seeking out this company's chicken, as it was the tastiest roast chicken I've prepared in a long time. Even the skin was flavourful, and I expect the bones etc I've saved are going to make very tasty soup!

Local chicken for a great price. You can't go wrong here.

Also, who gives one star for unfriendly front desk staff and admits the chicken is good? Are you coming to a chicken processing plant to make friends, or buy locally raised meat?
