I live next to this farm and I am horrified that animals live on this property. There is literally garbage and rusty metal, piles of old decaying wood EVERYWHERE. Whoever approved this farm to be an animal sanctuary should lose their job. It's truly sickening. When the wind picks up it blows garbage from Kootenays Acres Farm Sanctuary through the fence onto my property putting my animals at risk. The rescued animals graze in the area where all the garbage is too! How the goats haven't died from eating garbage is beyond me. These poor animals deserve a clean property to live on, not this. The woman who lives there and runs the sanctuary has had the last 4 years to clean this property up. It hasn't been done. The place is disgusting. Not to mention the massive pile of animals fecees in the main horse paddock that the horses and the goats have to live with. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Kootenay Acres Farm Sanctuary is such a beautiful, much needed place for rescued, special needs, and re-homed farm animals. I have had the absolute pleasure of watching the journeys of so many precious souls there blossom from being neglected, forgotten, or simply not cared about as shells of themselves and form into the most happy, energetic, loving animals you've ever met! It's so refreshing to see and the world needs more sanctuaries like this!💕
