I drive close to an hour each way to Local Meats even though there's an excellent butcher shop closer to home. The thing that makes Local Meats worth the drive is the welcoming, friendly staff and a top shelf owner. I've always left the shop with a huge smile and some excellent cuts of meat, including new things to try that were recommended by the owner or staff. Local meet is so much more than just a butcher shop. The amount of time and effort that goes into the ready-made meals they sell is extraordinary. They sell pickled goods, baked goods, including some excellent pies. And I can't forget the delicious cheese sticks, and more.
I was quite shocked to read some of the negative reviews and can't help but wonder if they reviewed the right place. Not only have I consistently had top quality meat and customer service with recommendations that we're out of this world but I also see the interactions with all the other customers that are in the store when I do go there and everyone leaves with a smile. I love that everyone at local meats is down to earth and real. You don't get the fake customer service voice you get real people and you leave feeling like you made a new friend. Don't take my word for it check it out yourself. You'll be glad you did. The prices for superior quality Cuts of meat can't be beat. Most of my grocery shopping is now done at local meats due to the affordability and definitely the quality. The personable, friendly owner and staff are an added bonus. 🙌

We visit regularly and have had no issues until recently. We recently purchased a brisket that was pre smoked and cooked. It was extremely tough and no where near tender after being reheated as instructed. We had to basically slow cook the brisket for a couple of hours covered in foil and with some beef broth in the pan to get it tender. Otherwise everything we have had has been great just the brisket wasn’t the greatest.

Good products. The front counter staff aren’t very attentive though. Second time I left there with order not correct. They are friendly but I don’t think they pay attention

I had the pleasure of checking out a fantastic butcher in Leduc today! Well worth the drive EDMONTON
My freind has been shopping there for years and raves about the place often - it was my first time and boy was I so impressed! It was so welcoming from the moment we walked in the door - I believe the owner greeted us with fresh ribs that had just come out of the smoker!for all that were in the store at the time! Omg they were huge and soooo good! I’ve never experienced anything like that before! Very generous! I will never forget my visit! And can’t wait to come back to buy more soon and to try the New York’s! Tmwo for supper!

They are amazing here! So helpful and friendly. I ordered 45 ribeye for my wedding and boy oh boy did they deliver! The meat was tender - flawless. Highly recommend for both the quality of product and the quality of service. Three cheers for Local Meats!
