Everyone was very helpful as we transitioned to the new vet after moving to Markdale. Really appreciate that we were immediately treated like family with the staff. Both girls loved the staff.

I don’t know if anyone’s going to read this review. I’m extremely upset with Markdale over a couple of things in my nine years of being with them. I look the other way a couple of times because they are pretty well the only place in this area that works with Horses. I have had numerous animals. 10 horses had two dogs one passed away recently two cats. I’ve had one that come out to my house on Canada Day. A few years back one of my horses had to be euthanized. She had laminitis put the needle in her sleep and she didn’t go down. then proceeded to put in the other needle which was filled with the medicine that stops their heart she suffered for an hour. Then I got a new vet in that same office. She was wonderful. I had to say she was the best vet ever she has left that facility not good terms. I have a service dog and I needed a letter signed not, not a check up just a letter signed that my dog was vaccinated at that facility. I have a service dog because I suffered from great anxiety. They told me they didn’t have time to do it. They were too busy and I said it’s just a signature. It does not need to be signed by a vet. It could be signed by anyone , my dog was all up-to-date on his vaccines and his check ups. In fact, I even bought the Puppi when he was littler which included every single vaccine you could think of. So when I asked them to sign a simple letter stating that he was up-to-date. They had records of they refused me. I had to travel out of the country and it could’ve taken my whole trip down. So which intern caused me to have anxiety. Found a different way of getting the things I needed and I travel to Italy and I’m back now on returning from my trip. I receive a letter that they are cancelling me as a client and no longer as of immediately are going to service any of my animals , not only have the left my horses that might need care under and myself as well. I’m sorry to say because I’ve been a good client. I pay my bills. I’m up-to-date on everything and I do love my animals more than anything. But I cannot tolerate abuse on any sort of animal just because you did not want to sign the letter.

We have been coming here for just over a year now, first with our cat Max and now with our puppy Misty! Markdale Vet has always been amazing to us. Great service and always so knowledgable and caring! Misty loves everyone at the vet and especially Christina, they’re all amazing! Highly recommend them and their puppy classes, they’ve helped Misty tremendously!

They love my dogs! I can tell my dogs are comfortable as they simply walk right to the examination room! Sometimes right into the back room just to say hi! They greet my girls at the door and treats are always there to keep them focussed. Vets are informative and let me decide the next steps with confidence. It’s pricey these days to have a pet, but our girls are cared for.

This past Saturday, while visiting family, my parents' dog suffered a seizure. Their first call was to this vet — the closest option, of course. Unfortunately, they were told the clinic could not help because they were busy with other patients. My mother explained that the dog urgently needed Diazepam, a treatment that would only take minutes to administer. She made it very clear that this was a life-threatening EMERGENCY and said she would pay any fees — even extra — to save her dog’s life. She also explained that she would go to the Owen Sound Vet immediately afterward for further care, but that without immediate medication, her dog would die. My mother repeatedly cried out, "My dog is going to die," only to be hung up on. At this point they immediately detoured to Owen Sound to try and get there as quickly as possible. Just three minutes before arriving at the Owen Sound Veterinary Clinic, the dog passed away in her arms. The "what if" for our family is devastating. This clinic had an opportunity to help save a beloved pet’s life and chose not to. The complete lack of compassion from this clinic is disgusting.

I have been taking my pets to Markdale Vets for 14 years, I love their genuine love and care for my furry babies. Also love the family pet healthcare payment plans, makes it even easier to adequately care for my pets. We always get tve right treatments for them too! I highly recommend these vets.

Going there with our third dog, we have always found the staff to be friendly, welcoming and very caring. Explanations are very thorough so that informed decisions can be made. They are great!!!
