I have recently moved here. I was told this place was a food bank, it was not. However every Thursday free lunch between noon and 1 pm. They sell fresh fruit and veggies at below cost prices. Or you can get a family box for 10 bucks. No where can u find this amount for that little price. Good food. Community freezer you can access daily as well as a community fridge. They have frozen soups, smoothies and other fresh foods in the fridge. Breads as well. So friendly here. More communities should do this. It was a very welcome surprise. I will definitely go back there.

Most days really great staff and volunteers who support community inclusion and health the lunches there are really good and most staff are accommodating with community limitations there has been only one instance where I was disappointed in the staff and how she made one community member outright leave without asking if her meal could be packed up for the individual as they had limitation of animal companion in a contained carrier and the individual did ask the staff if it was alright as long as the animal stayed in its carrier and was told yes that would be fine. However was then rudely asked to leave right away with the animal carrier as it was not allowed which is understandable however the way the situation was handled was so discriminate that the individual was told to leave not even offered to Pack up their lunch which I as another community member had to ask for a to go container and was rudely told yes and that "well they can't have animals in here" I responded "I only asked for a to go container for their food, not the reason you asked them to leave" then ran after the individual which was so hurt by the rudeness of this staff member would not even accept the food.

Christina and Chris went above and beyond in supporting my family and I with food access knowledge, food, and above any of those incredible acts were kind and removed all barriers to food access so many in our community desperately need. I am humbled and so grateful. Thank you so much.

It's really disappointing to see that clients who knew and followed the rules of not smoking on the property for years at the past Soup kitchen and Mount Paul church has changed with the new Food Centre. I have continually asked the staff and volunteers for a year now to make it safe for everyone to access and am always met with non compliance. The staff member told me last week that he was not the smoke police. Meanwhile disabled persons with respiratory diseases are now expected to walk through smoke and the entrances and exists and even on the side walk in front of the windows and doors but what was most horrendous was when a guy sat parked with his truck door wide open standing beside his truck right in front of the food table at the centre doors and assaulted the entire line up of 20 people with smoke. Everyone should be able to access food safely and with integrity! Because they continue to do nothing it has been getting worse and worse. They need to get on board with a non smoking policy and step up their game.

All of the salads have bugs. Most of the food isn't great as I pick up for seniors and disabled people who all tell me the food is terrible. There are always fights in the line up as clients are rude and I feel on edge attending this location. I agree with the others as the smoking is a huge problem and most of the time it is the dark haired guy with glasses and a leather jacket who rides the scooter with red trim.

I have to agree that the cigarette and marijuana smoke is over whelming and now sadly at every entrance so one cannot even get in the lot. I have observed verbal violence between people in the food line on several occasions. I have reported acts of violence but the staff/volunteers don’t do anything about it as of course the people suddenly act all sweet when they pick up their food at the table. I stopped taking my kids with me out of safety concerns and now rarely go at all. I feel for those handicap people who are vulnerable and subjected to abuse from other clients. The food hasn’t been that great every time there is chicken or turkey I am crunching on bones and cartridge, I have founds many of hairs and egg shells in my food and often the soup is overly spicy. They refuse to list any possible known allergy foods. It’s unfortunate they don’t put more care into preparing the food therefore most of the food I get goes to waste. The smoothies seem to be a big hit with all.
